[2021] Kill or save Charles - crashes every time

I cannot finish the kill or save Charles fight. Every time I try I get a full crash. Tried installing latest graphics drivers and windows updates and a PC restart, tried underclocking gfx card. It just crashes after I throw him in the fire the first time and get him low "health" ready for a 2nd throw. Sent in bug reports for now but I have no idea what to do to finish, so close!
