What has happened with jumping and parkour mechanics in this game? I'm playing on PS5 and TRYING to get character up a frag puzzle. It is more frustrating and annoying than trying to complete a jumping puzzle in Guild Wars 2 using a keyboard and I am using my PS5 controller here to actually move comfortably (when they go where you need or want them going).
I'm not complaining about the timed mechanics, that is part and parcel of the actual puzzle, I'm complaining about actions I am used to in these games not actually actioning like JUMP for example near an edge and DROP just about ever. He WON'T jump when you need him too, he either goes down off the edges despite pressing or even holding jump (X) or he will cling where he needs to momentary climb after managing the jump then just sticks there like a fly to the proverbial ordure and wont continue up the wall, even though there is an available ledge farther up the cline for him to make his way up to. What ever happened to using O to go down? If it ain't broke then why try to fix it by making it broke in doing so (if this is what you went and did here and this is not another bug)? I have checked options in the game setting to look for "classic" gameplay settings and there aren't any. My PS5 controller is working "normally" (for a PS5 controller: the things are too sensitive, despite a recent controller update, and the d-pad is a nightmare as the radial points are centred on the same axis).
The frustrating page leaf follow (f*#$ grrr) missions are also a lesson in pure patience in trying to get Eivor to actually go AFTER the flapping things and, as well, and trying to complete those cairn grindstone missions ain't fun, but that is another shibboleth of a story.
Is this just me or have other folk noticed this? I'll end by stating good choice for the tee you gave the Basimism, Ubi. He really deserves THAT 💙
