I understand that you would like to stop game updates and it is very space consuming, however this is not possible because all of the title updates are critical and it is necessary to install them for the normal functioning of the game.
For example, if you performed the reinstallation of the game with update 1.4.1, it helped to save the plenty of storage and free up the space. More details can be found here.
