Hello,

Same problem here, for me and my roommate (2 different machines and accounts).
We both updated to 1.7 for AC Valhalla and the game now refuses to start up, the game worked before this update.

If we start the game up through the shortcut we get a request for an activation key(!?)
Through the launcher itself, the game seems to start (syncing etc.), then nothing. No splash screen, just nothing.

Things we have tried:

  • Making sure gfx drivers etc. are up-to-date
  • Making sure windows is up-to-date (Win10)
  • Verifying game files (did find corruption on my machine, but not on the machine of my roommate), game still doesn't launch
  • Re-install game -> Nothing
  • Re-install launcher -> Nothing
  • Verifying Windows itself isn't corrupted by verifying it's integrity through:
    • Command Prompt (sfc -scannow) -> No problems
    • PowerShell (DISM -Online -Cleanup-Image -RestoreHealth) -> No problems
  • There are no log entries recorded by Windows to indicate AC Valhalla crashed


I also walked through the listed troubleshooting guides and still nothing.
The problem still persists 2 days since the patch.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hey @jujoco91! Just to confirm, are you still getting prompted for an activation key?

Is your roommate getting the same activation prompt? Or are they getting stuck on the splash screen like everyone else?

If you complete these steps and you are still unable to launch Valhalla successfully, please follow up with the next agent who handled your support case. For security reasons, we are unable to assist with account-related issues through public channels past this point.

❎ Please note these troubleshooting steps are not for your roommate to complete. Your roommate can either post in this topic and I can try to assist them here (as much as I can), and they are also able to login and create a support case on our website. If they do create a support case, please have them attach their Ubisoft Connect launch log file to the support case. Also, if they own the title through Steam they can provide us with their Steam ID for good measure too.
