I've just signed in today to find out that I've lost a whole day of saves for AC Valhalla,

I wont be able to continue to play this game if there is a constant threat of something like that happening,

Is this a regular occurrence?

Even if not this is kind of ridiculous and I have lost all the excitement I had for this game knowing i now have to go back a re-grind everything for hours

I'm sorry to hear you are unable to access your save. This could have just been due to some server degradation earlier causing it to not be able to locate your save file in the cloud. It looks like the degradation is now over, so if you try logging out of Ubisoft Connect, back in again, then relaunching the game, and let us know if you are still unable to see your saves. If you can't, please let us know and we'll see if we can help restore them.
