So in late December I reported an issue that had happened months earlier - my Yngling Seax disappeared during the battle with Ivarr the Boneless. I definitely didn’t do the hand swapping technique often associated with this bug. Ubisoft responded in good time, asking for screenshots, update patches, and more info. Didn’t hear anything for a long time except an update a month or so ago saying they’d passed it on to the Game Team. I’ve just heard back from them now saying that it’s been passed on to the development team, and that any news on the bug will be posted in the forum.

I feel like this is a bit of a fob-off, right? Players haven’t done anything wrong for these bugs to occur, and unless they play the game with unsatisfactory conditions (like continuing without their favourite weapon), then they have the choice of abandoning hundreds of hours of play and starting again, or simply not playing again. To be told to keep checking the forum is such a cop-out, and pretty upsetting. I had loved this game before stopping for fear of losing anything else.

if they did find a fix, they could at least respond to the cases who reported it instead of forcing them to hopefully check forums constantly. Remember, the player hasn’t done anything wrong, Ubisoft - the onus is on your guys, not us.

Incidentally if anyone has had success with getting weapons back after they randomly disappear I would love to hear it. Absolutely heartbroken I’ve had to stop playing when the game was getting me through quite a tough year.

First of all I am sorry to hear the equipped weapon disappeared during fight with Ivarr for the quest "King Killer".

I understand that you have reported this by submitting a case and received the response from my colleagues.
I can confirm the issue is under investigation by our development team now, but as of now we're unable to provide you with a definite ETA.

You've also asked us why our customer support team do not respond every user and do not inform them about our updates and fixes. I know that all the cases our players submit are being responded in a timely manner, however if they don't hear back from you within 4 days, your case automatically gets closed. If you don't wish to check our forums for updates, you may always contact our customer support team by email or a live chat or even on Facebook and Twitter and ask if there are any updates regarding the issue.
