I've been working on the Assassin's Creed Wiki for a long time and was working on articles about the residents of Ravensthorpe. I've been following all Ravensthorpe residents, stalking them for several days, to see their behavioural patterns. That, combined with the notes scattered around the town, and dialogue given during memories, give me a good idea of who is family of whom.

The biggest questionmark for me are the children. As all three (Knud, Eira and Sylvi) are almost always walking about together. From the dialogue of the Family Matters memory we've learned that Eira is the daughter of Gudrun and Gudmund (the shipwrights). From notes in Ravensthorpe you can learn Sylvi is the daughter of Runa and Viggo (the farmers of the Grain Farm).

But then comes Knud... at first I always thought he was the son of Gudrun and Gudmund, and thus the sister of Eira, but I couldn't find any dialogue in the game that suggests this is true (I might have missed it, if so please let me know). His name and clothing do suggest he's Norse, and not Anglo-Saxon like Viggo, Runa and Sylvi. But when I follow him around in Ravensthorpe, he spends 90% of his time around the house of Sylvi and her parents (the grain farm). And when the children finally aren't all running together, it's Eira who is in her home (the shipwright building) and Knud still runs around with Sylvi or is playing on his own in front of the grain farm.

So now I'm confused, as the name and clothing suggest he's the child of Gudrun and Gudmund, but his patterns around town suggest he lives at the Grain Farm (thus with Viggo, Runa and Sylvi). I had written the article like he's the son of Viggo and Runa, but now I came across the German Assassin's Creed Wiki, which states he's the son of Gudrun and Gudmund, albeit without a source. So i'm doubting even more. Has anyone ever encounter a hint towards who's Knud's parents are?

I just restarted the game to check and in the very beginning in Fornburg, when the Raven Clan hasn't moved yet I can't seem to find Knud at all in the city. Going to the docks/shipwright building there, it's just Gudmund, Gudrun and Eira, doesn't matter if it's day or night it's only them three being there the whole day. Again, this is the point where dialogue with Gudrun confirms Eira is their daughter. But no hints on Knud whatsoever.

I'm trying to be as correct as possible, so if anyone could give me a source/info pointing me to the answer or right direction, or if devs can confirm who's son he is that would be much appreciated!

Hello there @Kennyannydenny!

Thanks for reaching out! I'm happy to hear how passionate you are about the lore of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and how you're working on creating articles for the Assassin's Creed wiki to share this knowledge with others! It sounds like you've done a lot of research into the residents of Ravensthorpe and their family trees already, and this effort has to be commended! 👏

There's not currently a way to contact the devs regarding the story or lore queries, so I wouldn't be able to direct you to a specific place where you could ask these questions. I've spoken to some members of the Assassin's Creed Game Team, though, and based off documents that can be found throughout Ravensthorpe, as well as NPC behaviour, it seems most likely that Knud is the son of Viggo and Runa.

I hope that this provides you with some more clarity! Best of luck with the wiki! 😊
