[2022] Copious Bugs: Missing Runes

I bought AC:Valhalla at it's release. I had to abandon it because of the sheer amount of bugs, from Boss fights glitching out to getting stuck in floors after cutscenes. It was literally unplayable.

I've come back 18 months later to finally play the game due to a load of updates and I am STILL finding bugs everywhere but this one really takes the cake.

I'm going for 100%. Do everything, find everything, loot everything. I finally managed to upgrade to mythical armour and I log on today to find half my runes missing from my armour and weapons.

To Ubisoft: I have worked so dang hard on accumulating all this stuff and to find posts from FIFTEEN months ago describing the same bug and to have your support say they are looking into it yet it is STILL not fixed is ridiculous. I have zero hope of you ever properly paying attention to and fixing this game.

To any players that see this: If you have encountered this bug and know of a fix or a way to prevent it from happening again please enlighten me. I can get around most bugs (bosses being stuck, missing keys and items etc) but I'm really ticked at all my runes going missing. I worked hard on my build >.<

I'm sorry to hear that you've lost a number of your runes. I'd just like to clarify what caused your runes to disappear. You mention that you noticed this happened after upgrading your gear to "Mythical." After you logged back into the game, can you let me know if your gear was still "Mythical" (marked with gold) or had it changed to "Divine" (marked with silver)? It would be helpful to clarify what enhancement your gear currently as we look into this further.

As mentioned by @SpirantCrayon22, we're aware of a specific issue where runes equipped to any "Mythical" gear have been lost following an auto-upgrade to "Divine" quality. You can learn more about the investigation into this issue in our dedicated Megathread. If your runes were lost following an auto-upgrade to "Divine," then this is the issue that's likely affecting you.

If your runes are still "Mythical" quality, then would you also be able to let us know what actions were taken prior to your runes disappearing? For instance, did you only notice their disappearance after loading into your save? Or did they disappear after completing a specific in-game action (such as completing a raid, world event, or main story quest)? We have a different ongoing Megathread for the investigation into runes that disappear randomly, so it would be helpful to know more about the background of your rune disappearance so we can ensure your report is forwarded to the correct investigation.
