[2022] Camera drifting up on its own

I have 130 hours in the game and have played with an xbox controller on PC the whole time. Just recently, I have encountered a problem where if left still for a while, the right stick function will essentially "move up" on its own. This affects not only the camera when playing but in the menus and on maps, it will zoom in on its own or scroll up. I tried playing with mouse and keyboard a bit, and the problem went away, so I'm wondering if there is just something wrong with my controller.
