Hey, I think this is an issue that will be fixed in the next Game Update (we'll share more information on that once we have it).

Venice and vanilla are to separate .exes, yes. Seeds should be the same from what I know as well.
Amazing, I just installed 1404 and I still had the original game installed. And my old save game from there just loaded up automatically! Is this an intended feature or do the installs share the same documents folder location?
It grabs any existing saves from the folder, yes.
Hey Anno Community,
The day is finally here: The Anno History Collection is setting sail, inviting bright-eyed newcomers and nostalgic veterans alike to (re)discover the first four classic games in the Anno series with new features like support for glorious 4K.
We previously detailed each of the four History Edition releases including their improvements and the respective game’s place in Anno history, which you can find here:
Read moreHey Anno Community,
good things come to those who wait, and you have certainly been patient whenever we discussed our plans for updates to the Union. That is why we are delighted to say that we are currently in the preparations of giving our venerable Anno Union website a small facelift, and what better opportunity to do so than alongside the release of the Anno History Collection this week!
As we work on some final steps, it is possible that you may run into some intermittent issues reaching the Union, for which we apologize. It is also possible that any comments you leave now may not make the jump over the new version. Rest assured that all previous blogs and your comments since launch will of course also be available on the new Union.
See you soon!
Yeah, I think they've said that 1800 is supposed to span the whole century
Indeed, Anno 1800 spans all of the 19th century, and even into the 20th century. For example the first Battlecruisers did not go into service until the early 20th century.
Having an architecturally, culturally and geographically distinct second part of the game, with two separate residential tiers as well as new production chains and goods was not only mind-blowing to players of Anno 1404, but will also sound familiar to avid industrialists who have been spending time in 1900’s New World or the Passage
Anno 1900 confirmed!
Stabiler Hinweis, Bruder! Changed the typo :)
This hoping this can somehow be released on GOG as well. Fingers crossed!
There are no plans for a gog release, sorry.
Will it be possible to play multiplayer with one player having origional anno 1404 venice and the other one anno 1404 HE?
No, that will not be possible. Multiplayer of the History Edition has been ported to work via Uplay, and it will only work with other HE owners.
I remember reading somewhere that the lion land citizens have more than 2 levels, could be wrong tho
We haven't announced anything yet, so take anything you read elsewhere with a grain of salt :)
I think you've got another thing comin
Very happy to see at least one person appreciating my old man references :)
Because it is the Anno law. And the only person allowed to break the law is Rob Halford!
Maybe! In that case, what‘s up with the decapitated statue in the worldfair?
There’s plenty of ancient statues missing parts such as an arm or head in museums across the world. Given the time since they were created, I am amazed anything has remained at all.
