Live service isn't to blame for this. If premium was still around for this game, then the community would be in an even larger uproar for why they had to wait even longer than BF1's first expansion to come out, and with less content and in an even more buggier state.

How come it never materialized? Even with you absent for a while, surely you weren't just expressing your personal ideas?
No the game was built to be a series of release of parts of the war, chronologically and theatre wise. As of to why that didn't happen I can't get into details there really.

That's all well and good that there might be some new content in 7.0 (Summer). But what about AFTER that update? Will you be continuously adding new maps, vehicles and/or weapons, or is that "it" ? Are we to assume new content of any kind will end with 7.0? Bug fixes and balance changes is not "content". Maps, Vehicles, Weapons ARE.
It's stated in the blog that the June Update (7.0) will be the last content drop and we'll have those details once we get Update 6.6 out the door.

Adding new game modes to existing maps is fine and all, but it's the SAME MAPS that we've played for months on end. Needs new content. Thought the Pacific expansion would be the "start of something great", but it seemingly went with a whimper.
Yes, we'll have content drop with the June Update. Once we get Update 6.6 (May Update) out the door, we'll share more details on what's coming with Update 7.0.

BFV goes to sunset after June..
“Sunset” is different than what’s happening. To clarify, when a game is sunset, all service is shut down. BFV will continue to have weekly missions and we’ll have some updates for Community Games to add more tools to the feature.
