Problem: the fast respawn timer event isn’t working despite it being time for it, spawning takes the regular amount of time

First noticed: January 12th, 2pm

Steps to reproduce: play any online mode

Edit: apparently it’s bugged and only applying to CS

Fast Respawn rules only applies to certain modes. It depends what mode you was trying to play it on.

Problem: I get into a match of any gamemode alone or with a friend like normal. Everything works. When I die and spawn back in my character is invisible and I can’t move or shoot. The only thing I can do is move the camera over my shoulder. I’m completely defenseless if I spawn in the open. After about 10 to 15 seconds I’ll see my character appear and everything works like it’s supposed to. This continues every time I die afterwards. Another issue I have noticed is an incredibly long load time between matches. If I’m playing with a friend, they would already be in the match while I’m still loading in. If I choose to back out I’m stuck waiting on the screen with all the helmets. I’ve been on that screen for 10 minutes once. I decide to close the game and try again but at some point I always encounter this.

First noticed the issue: Around the release of Rise of the Skywalker movie, December 20-23, 2019. I’ve had these issues since I’ve downloaded ...

This sounds like you may be running into latency/ping issues where you're not sending enough data to the servers so it isn't relaying things fully. Have you ensured that your ports are open?

You can find out about that here; https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/faq/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/

I'd also suggest at the extreme end you try reinstalling the game but ultimately you should contact EA Help for more assistance.

Issue: CTD upon lauching match

First noticed: Jan/12/2020

I have been away from the game for a while, so when I went to launch the game from Origin, I had to update the game to the most recent version. This has never been an issue for me before.

I have tried launching on multiple graphics settings, as well as online and offline. This is an issue even when loading Campaign, or other Single player modes.

Upon launching the game, the game loads to the menu. Where I can do everything except launch or load into a match.

A fix I found suggested deleting the "GstRender.ShadowQuality" line from the "ProfileOptions_Profile" file, from the Games documents folder. As well as deleting the entire Star Wars Battlefront 2 documents folder. Both of these solutions had no effect on the issue.

Any advice or a solution is much appreciated.

Hey there, this feels like something has gone wrong with the update - have you tried reinstalling both origin and the game?

Personally wouldn't suggest you delete entire game folders, but actually uninstall the game and program via your program list and try that.

Also ensure that you have an upto date driver for your graphics card, if these don't work I'd suggest you contact EA Help for further assistance.

Appreciate you censoring the name as that tends to cause further hatred towards each other, and "like for like" behaviour is never the way forward. Please make sure you report them so others don't have to be subjected to toxicity.

Oh and get your phone on charge too!

This is me responding. This is me stating that I shall forward it through to the team, next week, to further investigate and correct.

Unfortunately you missed it where we reactivated most of the appearances for events through the holidays, fear not though, there will always be ways to gain them in the future via events.

It isn't possible to reset your progression, sorry. The only route is as you said, a different gamertag or platform.

This isn't something that we currently have planned, sorry!

We understand that when it comes to the Ovissian Gunner it's difficult to not stand still and smile at such a lovely person, thus often resulting in imminent death. Will relay it to the team to consider going forward.

Almost as big a smile as an Ovissian Gunner.

This seems like an issue where the entitlement hasn't been applied correctly, double check that you are signed into the EA account that you applied your Celebration Edition to, if you are and are still not seeing all your unlocks in your Collections you will need to contact EA Help with proof of purchase (email receipt, order number etc)) of the edition so that they can apply it to your account manually.

You can begin that process via the following link; https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/?product=star-wars-battlefront-ii&platform=pc&category=missing-content&is...

Message to those that feel the need to send hate mail based upon someone's level:

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

Don't start off your year on the wrong foot, instead celebrate one another, you're there for one common thing and interest - passion for gaming, you're on the same game, share in that.

That person you're sending hate mail to? Could turn out to be your next long term gaming buddy, if you allow for it - you never know.

It's the choices that define you,

Message to those that are receiving this sort of thing:

Don't let it happen, report harassment or abuse via the platform report tools given to you - allow for the harassment teams to do their work and clean up all games for everyone.

There is currently a sale ongoing which places the Celebration Edition near the same price line as Standard Edition, however Standard edition is there as an option for those that would prefer to grind through gameplay to get all the appearances, emotes, voice lines etc. :)

Ofcourse, Celebration Edition is the way to go with all that shiny waiting for you as soon as you load up though!

We've a planned Community Transmission incoming during the latter half of this month which will be covering the new Astromech Heroes, after that has gone live we'll be looking to push the update live. Some of the team from DICE are still on vacation, once we're all back at it and are in full swing you'll start to see us ramp up communication once again.

Comment

As we've already stated, we have a CT on its way during the latter half of this month which will be covering details and abilities about the incoming Astromech Heroes. The update which will bring those heroes into the game is still on course for this month too.

Usually, a Community Transmission covering what to expect from the new additions happens before the update.

Came here for droid gameplay, was not disappointed. One of the best reinforcements one could choose if you want to take down some heavy targets.

Comment

Unfortunately this is not on our immediate radar right now, but we do continue to field the feedback and requests through when we come across them. Sorry!
