While I personally don't think the EMP should remove player names. I do think the EMP could be an interesting addition to Blackout. It's on the schedule, but a bit downstream and lower priority than some other things (at the time of this writing and, like anything, subject to change.)
So you all understand how this works, how I personally feel about anything doesn't determine or guarantee how something will work. It's always a team effort.
Please allow a concussed player to fight back. You are absolutely meant to be disadvantaged when hit by an item like this, but there **needs** to be outplay potential so skillful players can still defend themselves.
Trophies are great but needing them to be preemptive is unreliable. Surprising a team with a concussion initiation shouldn't always result in a guaranteed win.
Reinforced is also an insufficient counter because it is inherently less lootable given that activated perks aren't dropped on death. A player shouldn't be expected to have reinforced activated for every single fight in a Blackout match, yet concussions continue to feel omnipresent despite the inventory nerfs. I'm also still confused as to why ya'll decided that Reinforced/Tac-Mask needed to be a half-measure this year instead of the full immunity from year's prior.
This game is seriously so good, but the hand-in-front-of-face-can't-fight-back decision is utterly mind boggling.
...
Like before, I am answering the question without judgement for or against.
I do so without any lense of multiplayer or Blackout when answering. It's a design philosophy conversation, which I always enjoy personally when both sides are treating each other with respect.
Hard-counters invalid both pieces of gameplay content. If you can fully counter something, you stop taking the thing that can be fully countered and then you stop taking the counter.
That gameplay type and style then ends up getting invalided entirely over time and removes depth from the game. I (personally) don't like that because I (personally) believe the game is much richer with more than just straight gunplay.
... as to your note(s) above about "not being able to fight back" please understand that I totally get it. We just haven't decided what we are going to do about that yet.
Good point, we agree! Keep an eye out for updates on the Tempest hitbox trace size coming soon.
Ruin, don’t look up...
Hi there, can you PM me your gamertag and platform? Thanks!
I have this problem when I'm the party leader I can only get into laggy matches and usually host migration occurs. When I'm in a party with my friends and they find the match I don't lag at all. Would this have something to do with my ISP by chance that I'm getting matched into horrible servers?
Can you PM me your gamertag if you haven't already? ( I have a lot of PMs to get through.. ) Thanks!
They exist :) PM me your gamertag and platform, thanks.
It's not infallible but it can help when your matchmaking is as wonky as it is.
I live within 20 miles of 9 million people 400 miles of 58 million people and on launch week you cant fill a lobby with people relatively local to me.
PM me your gamertag and platform - you shouldn't have to block anything. Blocking IPs based on their apparent geoip location is not a great idea.
On a related note:
So you're saying that this problem many people are having hasn't been acknowledged other than this instance? Because there is something definitely wrong with either the servers or matchmaking is putting players from certain regions into a matchmaking pool with people they shouldn't be playing with. I live West coast NA and haven't gotten one server under 40 ping. Every game is 60-90 ping.
PM me your gamertag, thanks.
Location is important for obvious reasons, but I'm intrigued that you want details on service providers. Are there concerns about throttling or something similar? Obviously there's quite a hubbub about that in the States right now so it made me curious.
Getting packets from A to B across the wilds of the internet in a timely manner can be an interesting problem. Peering issues more than throttling would be what I'd be looking for.
The NA servers are definitely up, and have plenty of people on them :) Not denying you're encountering a problem of some sort. I dropped you a PM - can you send me your gamertag and platform(PC?) so I can dig into your telemetry a bit. Thanks!
We greatly appreciate videos that can help us identify bugs or issues of any kind, and in particular hit detection issues. These are a top priority for us to isolate and fix, and as you can imagine they are tough to track down given everyone's different network conditions. And of course, there is also the slight chance of misconception of what happened, which can usually be explained if we slow things down enough. But the video will always prove useful, as they can and have helped us identify and fix bugs.
We can't go through every one of these from every Player, but you asked for an explanation, and a ton of other Players upvoted and commented. That tells us this is an important issue for you all, so an explanation you shall have!
In this case, we had to cap the embedded video and slow it to a crawl to discover what happened. 12 Shots were fired, which anyone watching can easily see in the ammo counter. We scrubbed this frame by frame from beginning to end, thinkin...
Read moreStill a few bugs hidden in the massive network of systems. Thanks for calling this out, it is indeed a valid bug. We will get it in the pipeline to fix soon!
Also a T1D myself. There are several of us on the Dev team. Thankfully our kitchens are stocked with healthy snacks!
No announcement on the servers right now, but our very own Jon Moses of Treyarch is in South Korea as we speak!
I have no trouble standing while playing, but I definitely am not as good at playing while standing.
The NUMBERS Mason! What do they mean??
One more thing - if you're experiencing issues with lag, please include your ISP and general location. Have fun everyone!
