Like now we can only play 4 modes instead of 6, which makes the pool of queued players larger. This can improve matchmaking quality and speed and it's also a buffer against declining playerbase. We also have increased leveling benefits and the hyper-charges (with the special bundles) and higher quality 299 skins (stu and edgar), which incentivize spending resources and hence buying gems and BPs.

What is a bit concerning is the implied need for speed with these changes, like you said, a lot of these things were pushed early because it was better than waiting to try to have a big impact on the game as soon as possible. Hopefully the game is doing fine numbers wise?

I've made a bigger post on x.com if you're interested in some of our rationale.

That's the plan. Note that doesn't mean that it SHOWS visually as "percentage of" but the underlying math.

The answer is: when most of the Gadgets and Star Powers have been developed, those were introduced with fixed values rather than percentage of x based ones since back then Power 9 was the highest you could go.

It's just a huge undertaking adapting more than 70 abilities into the new world. We're working on it though and hope to have (most of them or all) ready for the next update. We wanted to hit the timing for Hypercharge with the return of people from holidays (in Europe and in other areas of the planet where people have vacation around June-August) in order to make the best out of it for the game instead of waiting for this change. The rationale there that introducing Hypercharge earlier has a bigger impact than "fixing" existing abilities which aren't % based.

Of course people can make the argument if that was the right rationale, but if you consider that "QoL" updates don't stop the natural decline of games,...

It seems only visual though, so it's still giving Bling (phew!)

We are adding it to the list!

Do you have the steps to repro this issue? Does it happen every time you go to that screen?

The #hypercharge update will be live right after the maintenance! Don't forget to play the Hypercharge Unleash game mode to get your free Shelly Hypercharge as soon as the update drops!

New Brawler: Pearl (Chromatic)

  • Trait: Heat
    • Heat increases slowly over time. The hotter Pearl gets, the more damage she deals
  • Attack: Hot Cookies
    • Rapid fire hot cookies directly from the oven, damaging enemies on hit while slightly cooling the oven and lowering the amount of Heat
  • Super: Let out Some Steam

Thanks for your design suggestions. We'll take this into consideration! 🔥

It won’t change. The value was just incorrect in the developers version of the game that the content creators used for their videos

And as a reminder about yesterday's discussions and poll - no decision has been made yet

We'll focus this week on the upcoming update and we'll bring up this topic later on once we have more time to discuss it

Post

Since we are already at it, here's less controversial topic to discuss:

Payload came back this season with a few small changes 🛒

- Is it as cool as other game modes?
- Would you change something to make Payload be at the same level?

Let us know what you think about it!

The short version is: Would you like us to bring back Skins that are no longer available in the game?

At the moment, Brawl Pass and Power League Skins (before the Biodome update), celebratory and seasonal Skins (Heroine Bibi, Ricochet), and even Star Shelly were given or sold as exclusive, meaning that only players who got those skins when they were available can ever own them.

However, as time went by, we got more and more new people into the game, and most players didn’t even have the chance to get most of those skins. Whether you are a collector or you just missed a cool Skin for your favorite Brawler, the idea of not being able to get it ever again is not great.

At the same time, we want to respect everyone who bought or got those Skins when they were available, and that’s why we are asking this question. We want to allow everyone to speak their mind before making any decision.

On Saturday, the 26th of August, we’ll have polls a...

Hey there!
Can you share your player tag with us? And maybe see if the problem still persist if you close the other apps running in the background?

Share what you LIKE, what you DISLIKE, and any improvement suggestion you have in mind (even if it's a complete rework of the mode)!

We don't have anything planned yet for this in upcoming updates though, so it might take a while to see any changes

I don’t know if I’m happy or sad with people saying they don’t need to make a single purchase to have all the Brawlers :D

Sorry! I meant “that’s why we can give hearts on YouTube” which is the nice thing… it’s a “meme/expression” people say when someone takes advantage of you for being nice, in this case, those freakin’ bots

It wasn’t targeted at you, just tried to make a dry joke :D

If you are a regular player who did everything you could to maximize progression, then the buff is around 2%(with way less control on what you get). Most people fall somewhere in between.

It’s the opposite - the majority of the players get a bigger progression buff (even more than 20%) The super engaged player who plays all modes and completes the pass still gets a buff, but a smaller one

The only nerf was to the freedom of progressing your account, but this change is intended because it’s exactly this variable that allows us to inject more resources into the economy without making it unhealthy to sustain the game

One thing I see though, something in the communication didn’t go well, because it is a progression buff, but a lot of players perceive it as a nerf, so we could have communicated it better or added something in-game where it would clearly show the benefits of this new system

And only so this doesn’t get too long, there are more insights about the feature here if you are curious about it:
