Tracking a specific challenge is also part of the initial design, yes!
It won't be the next thing coming in though as it requires a little bit more work, but I'm still hopeful we'll get that in at some point. 😊
Hey there! Totally agree with you here, and this is actually very similar to what our initial mockup look like. We've got a bunch of improvements to that UI coming in the next few patches (most likely 1.8.3). \o/
They should make an announcement next year instead of keeping it a secret. You'd get way better submissions. I'm on here all the time and never once saw an announcement pop up.
We actually announced it here on Reddit at the start of Oct, all over our social media channels, and on our official Dark Harvest blog post.
