They already had to pay a guy to add to the OST, all they need from there are the PR managers to write up one webpage and accept a bunch of video files, and for the community to do stuff for free. Hell, I'm confident that this event serves no purpose beyond saving PL money so they don't have to buy a professional chorus to chant.

And time is another resource. This doesn't really take away from the time needed to design, program, or playtest new features or fixes, so that again cuts down on the cost PL needs to pay to make this happen.

We've already recorded our profressional choir, so this isn't to save us any money.

The purpose of this was to do something interesting and actually get our player voices into the game. We just think it's neat.

The layering will be handled by our composer, and they have the bandwidth to do this. The actual work and time here is pretty minimal and it's just for fun.

Hey everyone. Yes! I’ve written an updated Main Theme for Dauntless. It retains the melody we’ve all come to know, but injects about 100lbs of pure adrenaline into it now 🤜💥. Dauntless has evolved over the years and it felt right to freshen up the theme too. I’m confident you’ll all love it!

This is actually something we've pinpointed as a top community concern right now.

We did a lot of work to reformat and restructure Dauntless and lay a foundation for its future. Now that we've done that, we want to add more diverse and engaging content to the game. 1.6.3 will bring a lot of new things, and I can't wait to delve deeper into subclasses and the future of combat.

Right now we know players want new places to go, new Behemoths to fight, and new ways to fight them

Hey folks, thanks for the reports here. We've been looking into this recently, and we have made a change on our side that will roll out with 1.6.3 and should improve things here. In addition, we've been working alongside our voice chat provider, and they've deployed two changes this week that should already be improving this in the live game as early as today.

We'd love to continue to hear feedback in this area, so we can follow up on remaining issues. Apologies for the issues you've been having here trying to slay with your friends, and I hope you see improvements from these changes!

They look stupid and make no sense. They're behemoths from the future who somehow learned to manufacture high tech shields, but they look and fight the exact same as the ones from the past and present.

Hey u/Mindshattered! I worked on the design on the shield. The brief was to create a "future tech shield that hovers around the behemoth." We did talk about doing cosmetic changes to behemoths, but it just wouldn't have been possible time-wise. The rough lore we created was something like this: "In the future, warring factions have airships clad in modular/explosive armour. The armour is aether charged, so behemoths who walk through battlefield wreckage have a sort of magnetic reaction to the aether armour which causes it to hover around them".
