Happy Bungie Day! 7’s up, Guardians. Years ago you, the community, made 7/7 the unofficial celebration of everything Bungie. Fast forward to today, we’ve kept the name but it’s become the official celebration of all of you, the best community in the solar system.
We hope you’ll join us today in taking a moment to reflect on all of the unforgettable fireteams, friendships, and families that you’ve made over the years. Each one has contributed to building this amazing community into what it is today. Thank you for everything, Guardians.

Moments of Triumph

Starting July 9, 2019, Moments of Triumph for Year 2 of Destiny 2 will become available. Players will be challenged to complete triumphs that span content throughout the solar system, from the Dreaming City to the EDZ. This year will be fairly straight forward: Complete in-game trium... Read more

This week at Bungie, we’re about to hit the road.

Heroic Menagerie went live this week. Calus is testing you in new ways and sending those who fail to impress him back to orbit. You must gather your own fireteam to tackle this challenge, but new Triumphs and rewards await those of you who are up for it.
Next week, the Lumina quest becomes available to all Annual Pass owners. We are excited to see Guardians wielding this weapon to support each other in combat. We don’t want to spoil too much, but you should expect to start your hunt for this weapon in the EDZ.

Thanks to your dedication to the stories the Destiny universe has to offer, you made our first volume of the Grimoire Anthology a hit, and we've seen many of you asking when Volume 2 would be coming out. Starting next week, on July 2, you can start pre-ordering the Destiny Grimoire Anthology, Vol. 2: Fallen Kingdoms from the Bungie Store. The book w... Read more

The most recent changes to Lord of Wolves created a monster. There's been a lot of discussion online about it. Once honorable, the Lord of Wolves has become a hard-to-stop Werewolf in Lord Saladin's contest. It’s super rigged (a small silver lining: it seems like roaming Supers get melted by it. FYI: We're looking at reducing the damage resistance of roaming Supers this fall).
Whether you've been tamed by it, or are running around as a pack in Iron Banner, we’re going to bring the Wolf to heel later this Summer.   Sometimes, Destiny is going to have goofy outliers, or periods of time where something is OP (like the Wolves howling right now in IB on PC). We don't want these periods to last too long (post-Forsaken launch Voidlocks), but they can be memorable moments.    Internally, we had a bunch of spirited debate this week around whether or not we should just prevent players from equipping Lord of Wolves throughout the game. This is a blunt tool, and basically... Read more

This week at Bungie, we prepare for Calus’s new challenge.

Hey everyone,
Like we did a few weeks ago on the Livestream, we’re going to continue to talk about how Destiny will continue to evolve this Fall and beyond. This update is about how we’re changing Eververse.    We’ve already made a number of changes to Eververse in Season of Opulence (we’ve redesigned the store, we’ve made Bright Engrams only include Year 1 gear—and have it bias heavily toward giving you items you haven’t unlocked in your Collections), and we’re going to make more changes to the economy, store, and armor in this fall’s patch.

Armor

It stinks to go to the Eververse store and see an item that looks cool and then seeing that the item has bad perks on it. In fact, when we’re setting up the armor, we’d twist ourselves up in knots to make sure the Eververse armor sets didn’t have good perks. We did this because we want the best way to get sweet perks on your armor to be by playing the game, not shopping for enhanced Hand Cannon loade... Read more

Edit: Thank you to everyone who donated! The prizes below were available during our stream between 1-5 PM PDT (4-8 EDT) on June 20, 2019. The two emblems are no longer available for donating. We are still working on gathering and signing all of the prizes and will be sending them out soon.

Bungie Bounty — Twitch.tv/GuardianCon

As part of the GuardianCon Charity Marathon, we’re putting a price on our own heads. From 1-5 PM PDT (4-8 EDT) on June 20, 2019, we’ll be hosting a Bungie Bounty. The prize for besting us in matchmade combat in our own game is usually an emblem. This time, we have so much more in the reward pool.
This will be a bit different fr... Read more

      • Note: Energy weapon reload audio may play more than once when the perk triggers

Eververse

  • Fixed an issue where the Intrepid Seasonal armor sets stated that they could be obtained through Bright Engrams when inspected within Collections
  • Fixed an issue where seasonal Eververse armor could be acquired with random rolls
      • Moving forward, all Eververse armor will have static rolls
      • Any armor obtained prior to this change will maintain their randomly rolled perks

This week at Bungie, we watched Guardians hunt for Truth.
Season of Opulence is off and running. Guardians are piling into the Emperor’s lost vaults in search of the treasure of their choosing. Earlier this week, you discovered a new boss waiting for you in the depths of the Menagerie. Upon defeating it, you were given a quest to seek out Truth. Not in an X-files way, but to find the Rocket Launcher, Truth—a weapon that seeks out its targets… aggressively. Just look at what some players are seeing in the wild:

The next chapter for Destiny 2 will reunite you with an old ally to confront new nightmares. This fall, on September 17, Guardians will return to our moon – twisted, reshaped, and haunted by our past – to confront new threats and uncover new additions to their customized arsenal.
Check out our new vision for the future.

Here’s a rundown of everything we’ve started to talk about, with some links to spaces you’ll want to watch as we roll out new information and updates all throughout the year.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

New Nightmares have emerged from the shadows of our forgotten Moon. Called forth by haunting visions from her tormented past, Eris Morn has returned and unleashed something that once slumbered beneath the lunar surface – a long dormant power even she cannot control.

This week at Bungie, we revealed the next chapter of Destiny 2.

Today’s been fun. The week started with a Chalice and led to a reveal. Earlier today, we hosted a stream to unveil the next chapter for Destiny 2. If you’ve somehow found yourself reading this article without seeing the news, let’s get you caught up.

Everything you need to know can be found here. Shadowkeep is on the horizon, with Eris calling upon Guardians to return to the moon and challenge Nightmares from their past. New Light will introduce Guardians to the world of Destiny. Stadia and Steam will provide new ways for players to join our community, and Cross Save will unite them on the same journey together.
We’ll be diving deeper into all of these projects throughout the summer. Our next stop will be E3, though we won’t have the usual booth and fanfare this year. Inste... Read more

//CABAL “LOYALIST” BAND TRANSMISSION
//AUDIO UNAVAILABLE//
They call themselves Hunters. Scouts. Survivors scavenging from races older and nobler—so that their people might rebuild what they’ve lost.
They call themselves Titans. Soldiers. Killers—slaying the enemies of humanity so that their City might live one more day.
They call themselves Warlocks. Martial philosophers. Harbingers of Light. Scholars searching for meaning when all is already lost. Their machine god abandoned them long ago.
They don’t understand yet, but they are, all of them, so much more.
It falls to you, my Loyalists, to show them the way. You’ve met them. You know their conviction.
So I unleash you.
Hinder them. Topple them. Teach them pain.
They will only ask for more. And they will grow stronger for it.
When they are ready, we will open the Menagerie to them. Even the stro... Read more
Gahlran knelt before his Emperor in a chamber of gold.
Every surface reflected a resplendent sheen that blinded him.
“What is this place?” he asked.
“Many things,” Calus replied, lounging with his cheek in his palm. “This chamber once held an Arkborn. The only one of her kind to leave the interstellar conduits of her people. It is the place where Valus Nohr earned her shield in trial by combat. Shadows were cast here. History made.” “Am I to cast a Shadow?”
“Yes. You were bred to be a sorrow-bearer. I seek a Hive commander, but those are not so readily available. So I made you.”
“The Council says the Hive cannot be contained. They worry.”
Calus raised an eyebrow. “Who among them?”
“Councilors Rahl and Verloren.”
The Emperor shook the golden chamber with his guffaw. “Only a few hours old, and already your words have killed two.”
Gahlran pondered what his Emperor could mean.
“I wil... Read more

Here is a preview of what adventures await.

Ready to play? These are the dates you should save!

This is the last weekly update before the new Season starts. Let’s dig in and cover the final details before the games begin.

When we were building Vault of Glass in 2013, the notion that our raids would launch a competition around World Firsts in Destiny was only a dream. The Me-from-2013 certainly didn't imagine we'd have the opportunity to make sweet championship belts and jackets for champions and competitors. It's been an incredible multi-year run: Bosses have fallen off ledges, sword bearers have been clutch, giant foes have created jaw-dropping moments, and the list could go on and on. With Crown of Sorrow, we hope to add more memories to your time in Destiny's Raids.    World's First races in Destiny are attempting to deliver the following experiences:
  • Power progression that challenges raiders to climb to compete for World First
  • Showcase team communication, game strategy, and player skill
  • A watchable and fair World First race
The World First race is when our players test their mettle in the Raid for the first time. With Opulence, we wanted to try... Read more

This week at Bungie, we’re setting the stage for Season of Opulence.

The next season begins in less than two weeks. On June 4, we’ll deliver the full and final patch notes.  Before that happens, though, we’d like to share with you some more of the key changes you’ll be seeing in Season of Opulence.

From One Season to the Next

As Season of the Drifter comes to a close, a new source for powerful rewards will emerge. The Drifter will return to his role as your Gambit hype man, and Benedict 99-40 is about to become your source for brand new secrets and rewards.  Let’s take a look at how this new perspective will be making some sweeping changes to your weekly routine…   Power Surge
  • Instead of a set of bounties, a new Power Surge quest will be your jumping off point for Season of Opulence
  • You will need to complete this quest to access the new Raid!

This week at Bungie, we are hosting Lord Saladin one last time in the Season of the Drifter.

The final Iron Banner for this Season rages on. This is your last chance to finish up any of the Triumphs—or maybe get that ridiculous emblem if you like to show off. We’ll have some slight changes to Iron Banner next season. We’ll give you the full details on what to expect the week before Saladin returns to the Tower in Season of Opulence

Season of Opulence Sandbox Changes

Season of Opulence is on fast approach and, similar to past Seasons, some sandbox changes will arrive with it. Last week, we set your sights on a new raid that begins on June 4—the same day that the new Season launches. We wanted to let you know what to expect from the new sandbox so you can plan accordingly. The Destiny Dev Team has the details.
