Hello -

The team has identified an issue in PvP where we are needing to disable the ‘Hatred’s Chosen’ power in Fields of Hatred.

• Players will still see the UI for Hatred’s Chosen while this is disabled but they will no longer see the buff displayed.
• Hatred’s Chosen will not reward seeds of hatred on-hit.

We will be working on a fix in an upcoming update and will update the community when this is enabled again after a fix has been shipped.

These have been re-enabled after Hotfix 2 was deployed today.

HOTFIX 2 - JULY 7, 2023 - 1.0.4

Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue where Uber Unique items had an unintended higher chance to drop from Helltide Chests.

Developer Note: With the above change, we have re-enabled Uber Unique drops in Diablo IV. In total we have discovered that only 142 accounts obtained an Uber Unique between the launch of 1.0.4 and when we disabled Uber Unique items from the game on the evening of July 6th. We do not plan on removing these items from the accounts. In the future, we may need to take action to maintain fairness within the game when a bug or exploit impacts the gameplay of others.

Gameplay Changes

• Helltide Chests will now have the chance to drop any Unique and not be restricted to specific item slot limitations from any chest.

Developer Note: With the above change players will now be able to find Unique items from ALL Helltide Chests...

• Enhanced Blood Lance now pierces up to a maximum of 10 enemies.
• Aspect of Hungry Blood now fires up to a maximum of 3 Blood Lances per cast.

Developer Note: This is indeed a nerf to Blood Lance, but Blood Lance has been so good for Necromancers that it has been crashing the game! This is a temporary solve while the team reworks the way the Legendary Aspect will function, and we expect this change sometime in Season 1 or shortly after.

Gameplay Changes

• The first Whisper Cache you acquire will now always grant a Nightmare Sigil.

Bug Fixes

• Further stability improvements.

We have temporarily disabled Uber Uniques from dropping in-game while we address an issue with Helltide Chest drops. Players will not be able to obtain the 6 Uber Unique items until a hotfix which we expect to be implemented on Friday afternoon Pacific Time. Other unique items will still be available from these chests.

We have a client patch hitting PC this afternoon to help with the crashes players have been experiencing. We will have patch notes update and you will see a client patch this afternoon once this is deployed.

Just an update on this.

The team has been working to figure out the source of the crash that players are experiencing. We will be working to prioritize and get something rolled out over hotfixes and client patches as soon as possible to address these.

Reports and the issue was brought up with the team since the 1.0.3 patch was released. They are investigating on their side. We will have updates when available.

Developer Note: Earlier today, we pushed out Hotfix 12 which included stability and performance improvement changes that affected Hammer of the Ancients. These changes were strictly for backend performance, but unintentionally also affected gameplay. There were no plans to reduce the damage of Hammer of the Ancients with this change. We have reverted this change as this was not intended.

The team is looking into the Hammer of the Ancients items players have been reporting. This isn’t intended behavior, and the team is on it.

We will have an update on this soon once we are done investigating.

Developer Note: We do want to forewarn that Druid players with these weapons already equipped will still be able to use them, but you will not be able to re-equip them if removed from your weapon slot. These uniques will no longer be available for Druid players to use moving forward.
