Don't know if you noticed that a 2+ rep haulage gets you more than a 2+ rep courier. Shrug, not sure why. I used to stack courier and haulage, made the grind go a lot quicker. :sleep:

It might have historically, but the "+" system has been based on the absolute value of the reputation change for several years now.

Community Goals

Greetings Commanders,

We’d like to take this opportunity to address the Tiling Planetary Features issue from the Issue Tracker.

After spending some time to observe the effects of the issue while weighing-up the costs to resolve it, we have decided to focus those resources elsewhere. Reducing or preventing the tiling effect would require a deep-overhaul of fundamental systems, which in turn would disrupt other aspects of the game. This would inevitably take time away from developing and improving other elements such as performance, bug fixes, and new content. We cannot justify this level of change and a re-generation of the galaxy in Elite. This is unlikely to change in the future so the issue will be closed, freeing up votes on the tracker for other issues.

We're looking to release a hotfix this week to address some of the issues discovered since the release of Update 11! We're aiming for the first half of the week for this hotfix right now, but we'll let you know concrete information soon. There shouldn't be significant downtime (think 15-30 minutes, not hours).

We’d like to thank you all for your patience whilst we’ve been working on our communications and development plans for the remainder of the year.

Following the launch of Odyssey, our primary focus has been on performance, optimisation and bug fixing, along with adding more features. This focus has had a knock-on effect with regards to our plans for this year and beyond and delayed our communications.

We understand the concern and frustration this has caused and hope this post goes some way to alleviate those feelings. Below we discuss profile transfers for console players and give an overview of the updates coming before the end of 2022.

Elite Dangerous is a game close to my heart.

It’s no secret that Odyssey’s launch was less than ideal, including the need to split the PC/console player base to focus on a PC-only launch. Since Odyssey’s release in May 2021, we have worked tirelessly to improve the Odyssey experience on PC, and whilst we have made great progress there is still more to be done. We have been supporting the pre-Odyssey and post-Odyssey codebases since.

Over the last several months, we have been wrestling with the best way to move forward, and it is with a heavy heart we have decided to cancel all console development. We need to be able to move forward with the story of the game, and in order for us to do this we need to focus on a single codebase. Elite Dangerous will continue on console as it is now together with critical updates, but we will focus on new content updates on PC on the post-Odyssey codebase.

This is all very much intentional and there have been no errors in testing. The undersuit (and all parts) get their name from the entire pack they belong to, as is convention. I understand on this occasion they are harder to distinguish in the chest pieces but the suits are all correct.

You may have received an inbox message today informing you that you have received a Brewer Corp decal from the recent Colonia Bridge CG's. Due to the recent delay of Update 11, these decals are actually not visible in-game yet. This issue will be resolved next week once the update is released.

UPDATE:

It turns out all the rewards were flipped on their head 🙃

In short, if the CG reward text said "TOP X % of Commanders get Y" then the BOTTOM X % of Commanders would have gotten Y instead.

Anyway, coming to you now with news of a number of improvements being released today, in the form of a small update this afternoon for Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Commanders only.

Elite Dangerous Odyssey will today receive a small Hotfix for you to deploy, in order to address a number of outstanding issues.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey servers will not require extended server downtime but will be offline momentarily to receive the deployment from approx 16:45 BST
In game broadcasting will go...around about now!

An update will be available to you imminently thereafter.

Heatsink Module Update
In a GalNet article on the 13th, we mentioned that the megaships in the Coalsack Sector Vu-O B6-6 and Onoros systems will provide pre-engineered heatsinks. However, these were recently offered as a CG reward and we want to extend their exclusivity for a while longer to uphold the importance of CG rewards. Therefore, these megaships will stock the heatsinks, but at a later date.

Non-Damaged Starports
The team have noted that a few starports that you may have expected to be damaged last week were miraculously unharmed. Look out for this to be rectified this week, most likely Thursday. The Thargoids won't give up that easily. Maniacal laughter ensues

Greetings Commanders. Back again.

We are imminently deploying a fix for Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Commanders to address the following issue that was introduced with hotfix 12.01 earlier today:

[*]Typing within the comms menu, as well as typing within the Galaxy map and other areas of text entry within game, currently fails to override Commander keybinds.

[*]If you were typing messages/chatting to fellow Commanders or searching for locations in game and had actions bound to specific keys you were using to type with, the bindings associated with those keys would still inflict the actions associated with them.
