Greetings Commanders,

A very warm and happy 3308 to you all - it's really great to be back in The Black with you all in another epic journey across our evolving Galaxy with another year set ahead of us.
We're taking time this week to gather our plans, catch up and prepare - so bear with us for a few days more on schedules and such as we get out stars aligned.

What I am happy to share is that the team have been working on a small hotfix this week for Elite Dangerous console players, to address the following:

[*]Cannot edit fire groups - menu navigation does not work.

[*]If your ship has modules that fall under the Utility category, you're unable to set your fire groups because navigation within the fire groups tab does not work.

This is a brief post to let you know that the release of Update 11 has been moved to the 8th of March. This will allow the development team more time to properly prepare content such as Fleet Carrier interiors and include other fixes.

The new release date is subject to change, however if it does we will let you know in advance.

Hi there,

I have seen no evidence of this actually being true.

There is a cosmetic issue on the aftermath screen due to an error in how the values are clamped and sent to the ui, which should be fixed for update 11, but the actual reputation effects are getting applied.

It feels like it's been a while since I wrote one of these weekly updates for you, and it's good to be back. We've got multiple things for you to look forward to this week. You may also see that we're trying out a new name for these posts, as they've evolved to be more than just a schedule post.

So without further ado, let's dive in.

Odyssey Update 11
After we detected some issues in the final round of checks, we moved Update 11 into this week. We're currently on schedule to roll out the update early this week as we're just undertaking those final, final, checks again!

Living under a space rock and not sure what Update 11 brings? The major attraction is definitely the Fleet Carrier Interiors. Whilst I think the on-foot emotes have a lot of value, I do agree a similar system for ships would be beneficial. Tying that into NPC behaviour is a different kettle of fish though and would be a relatively more significant undertaking. The ship 'emotes' - how do you envision them working? Translated text into one of the game's supported languages?

Interesting post, thank you! As far as new content goes, the Azimuth saga has been regularly adding new mysteries in the galaxy for players to come together and solve. Similarly we saw the return of Galnet and Community Goals and like you said, the recent CG was a huge success in terms of player participation. There's still plenty more to come in terms of narrative, but as others in the thread have said, a lot of the beauty of Elite comes from the player-created events, which I'm hoping the Community Event Calendar will help support - as well as more frequent shout outs from us in the CM team via streams and weekly posts soon.

Note posted at 17:00 - Fleet Carrier jump times have greatly increased. This is a deliberate queue-management feature built-in as a server safeguard. We expect many Commanders are jumping simultaneously to experience the jumps from the inside! We expect a return to normal levels once this initial spike in excitement dissipates.

For anyone unable to Disembark on their Fleet Carriers, please trying re-logging and restarting the game client. Apologies to anyone inconvenienced or unable to resolve the issue this way. We are aware and investigating.

This is almost comical ERROR 403 . I have had some recent issues with the game, Mainly the galaxy map locked up after I departed from Sag A. Its important to note the rest of the game ran fine!
I reported the issue to Frontier whom blamed my graphics card as it had not been updated for about a year. However I managed to turn off many of the options within the galaxy map and it seemed to clear the problem without updating the card drivers. So to keep Frontier happy I have updated the graphics card drivers and everything was back to normal with no determinable difference to the game........Today I try to play the game and this error comes up (see attached screen shot). Is anyone else got this as the game usually updates its self.



We are currently implementing Update 11 - servers are offline.

Thank you to many of you for your patience here in the Forum last night following a large scale issue currently present, whereby Xbox Commanders cannot access Horizons content (this includes shipyards, livery, the ability to land on planets, with errors occurring throughout).

I'd like to make this thread a 'catch all' for updates on our progress with investigations where further information will be posted as and when we have it for you.

The team are fully engaged in looking into the matter as I type.

Following very many continued conversations throughout present threads here in the Forum after the deployment of the latest updates this week (thank you so much for your time), we're continuing to file through the more pressing, widespread reports of immediate issues that significantly impact gameplay and give you a place of further acknowledgement of them, as oppose to losing responses to pages of discussion, here there and everywhere.
