Hey there. Just got the game (i'm a little late I know), but I can't even play it very well. Soon after searching for a match, or far into a match my game freezes and kicks me to desktop. No error codes, crash logs, nothing. It's pretty consistent, too, but even the Event Viewer doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
I've sent Ubisoft support their msinfo32 and dxdiag files they asked for, and it's going to be a little before they respond, but after all the customer support I've dealt with I don't have high hopes they'll be able to fix this for me. I might as well refund it if they can't.

I've tried all the fixes Ubisoft's website mentioned and it's still continued, unfortunately...

@namiyon Sorry to hear that it is still freezing for you even after the update. Can you try the steps here to see if they help.

If the issue continues after this please let us know.

Thank you.

@applesin-er Hey! Did you manage to try the steps that I linked above?

@skrzymir

Hey there.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with crashes/freezes at the moment.

The first thing I would suggest is to attempt each step suggested here. These steps are known to resolve most of the common causes of crashing/freezing.

If after doing so you're still experiencing issues I'd then recommend opening a support case. You can reach us either through the support website by opening  a live chat session or alternatively through our social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter and they will be able to create a support case for you.

After you've opened the case if I can also ask you to attach two system reports to the case that will assist us in identifying any potential cause. The reports we need from you are:

MSInfo
DxDiag

Thanks.

Hi @Namiyon @AppLeSiN-eR @Skrzymir @TheDragShot @funkey_m0nkee I have moved your posts into a new thread as the previous issue that affected players on Windows 7 was resolved.

@Namiyon @AppLeSiN-eR @TheDragShot @Funkey_m0nkee Can you go through the PC troubleshooting steps in the support article here if you haven't already done so as there have been known to help resolve issues such as games not launching, crashes, freezing, FPS drops and much more.

Please confirm if these steps help to resolve the issue.

@Skrzymir I'm sorry to hear that the PC troubleshooting has not helped and that you have been advised by Customer Support to update your operating system to Windows 10. As you probably know Windows 7 stopped receiving updates in January 2020, therefore technical assistance and software updates from Windows Update that help to protect your PC are no longer available. Microsoft strongly recommended that people using Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 10.

If we receive more contacts from players on Windows 7 who are experiencing the same issue as yourself and troubleshooting has not resolved the issue, then we can report it to the development team to investigate further.

@funkey_m0nkee As you have provided a link to your system files I assume that the PC troubleshooting did not help to resolve the issue.

I have had a quick look at your system files and was unable to see anything particular that may be causing the game to crash, however I could only read part of the msinfo as most of it was in Russian.

I have created a support case for you and our Customer Support team will assist you further.

Hi @pointlesssharck I'm sorry to hear that For Honor keeps crashing whilst you are playing.

You mentioned that you have already gone through the PC troubleshooting on the Ubisoft Support website.

To investigate the issue further we would require you to submit your system files which you have already done. Customer Support will do their best to reply within 48 hours, however if there is a high volume of contacts it may take a little longer for which I apologise. They will respond to your case as soon as it is possible.

Kidror said: this issue occurs regardless of if mods are in use or not.
Disabling mods does not remove effects they have already had on the saved game file. Do you ever get this in a galaxy that's never had any mods used in it?

You mention crashes in other games too - are these Paradox games, or unrelated, or both?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

We see crashes in the MS anti-malware module, and in notepad, as well as this game. No other game gets a mention though.

I think you have a Windows problem, OR a malware problem!

Try this Windows repar tool:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

Describes how to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 or Windows Vista. support.microsoft.com support.microsoft.com
And do deep scans with 2 or 3 anti-malware apps,; Malwarebytes and Spybot are two good free ones.

Good luck!

If the AV scans don't find anything either, I don't know what else to suggest other than a clean Windows reinstall ...
