We're talking about a feature like this, but it might be a ways off yet. We definitely want to allow you to change the look of objects.

Thanks for bringing this up. Those are supposed to be the lens flare streaks coming from the lights. It looks like the material is not compiling on iOS for some reason. I'll take a look at this and make sure it's fixed for the next patch.

This is a possibility in the future as we optimize. There are a few important reasons for the current limit. Note that we're planning to introduce a new gauge in the future to help you manage the simulation cost of objects like vehicles. This will replace the (invisible) fixed count limits we have currently.
It's a bug, sorry! It works in Playgrounds but not Creative. We'll get a fix out. But yes -- new map features are coming also. :)
