Have you ever played as Vichy France in Hearts of Iron 4? Perhaps in Multiplayer? Tell us your stories!
Take Georges Leygues, which in 1940 defended Dakar against the Royal Navy on behalf of the Vichy government.
Less than four years later, the same ship would be pounding the Normandy coast to support the D-Day landings.
Three of these ships would be scuttled in Toulon when the Germans attempted to seize them in 1942, but two would find themselves caught up in the blurred loyalties that followed the Franco-German armistice.
Ship Profile: La Galissonnière was the lead ship of the most modern light cruisers in the French navy when the war broke out.
With nine 6-inch guns and a 34 knot top speed, she was designed to be well suited to fighting the ships of France’s rival, Germany.
