Hey!
So my account was banned for 2 days for macroing. I have never botted/ used any kind of macros in my life but here is what happened.
I was on sick leave from work because of a neck/back pain and I wasn't able to use my normal computer so I decided to use laptop which have touch screen. I also had RuneLite installed with some handy plugins enabled for example drop item without shift + click (teak logs in this case). I racked up massive hours on play time on Wednesday up until Friday midday when the ban happened.
Immediately after the ban I appealed to it because, of course, I was playing the game when this happened. I also made a post on Twitter about it. Appeal was answered today and you all can see it in this post.
So... is it possible the Jagex bot/macro detection system was triggered by the touch screen on my laptop and caused the ban? To make it clear I was using RuneLite client for desktop and according to my knowledge is way different from mobile client.
Could I have used illegal plugins on RuneLite without knowing about it? Is there forbidden plugins on RuneLite which may have caused this?
Or is it possible that this sudden spike on my playtime and repetitive actions (seriously I had hard time sleeping so i played a lot) seemed that my account was hijacked.
Please keep the conversation civil. I just want to know what I did to trigger this ban and prevent it from happening again.
