I know I'm going to be the minority here on Reddit, but I hate 40k. I don't see how anyone won't be disappointed with this after coming off of Wrath of the Righteous. You won't get to be anything other than a human because every race in this game hates each other. You won't get to pick a class because you're a Rogue Trader. You won't get to be a hero or even a good guy because all humans in this setting are either Theocratic Space Nazis or Sadistic Fleshwarping Cultists (or both at the same time). You won't get a satisfying ending because "in the grim darkness yata yata yata". I don't see how this could be anything but a disaster.

The nature of a Rogue Trader and their freedom allows for significant variety and themes that aren't common in traditional 40k. And you know we love offering wide roleplaying possibilities. This won't be an exception :) So wait, and see!

And of course, if you're simply not into 40k, development of Pathfinder content still continues. Enhanced edition and Season Pass 2 with 3 more DLCs are on the way.

Aw, i was hoping for pause time. You guys absolute killed it with the other games, i hope it will at least be an option to switch to

The new mechanics are simply not fit for RTwP. You'll see it when we reveal the gameplay :)

It is designed solely around turn-based this time. The combat system is different.

I'm a bit sad here, I expected a historical legacy of Pathfinder games that we'd revere in the future, like we do with Fallout, BG or Torment now, I hoped to see different adventure paths made into cRPGs, but what can we do? I'll still buy a game, and propably have a lot of fun, but something precious will be lost in the gaming world if they won't continue with more Pathfinder games, what they did with both WotR and Kingmaker was in some ways revolutionary, I fell in love deeply with this world, even though I haven't played tabletop before that.

I know lots of people love WH40K, I don't know it that well and can only hope for the best, my only other contact with that universe was Dawn of War 2 + DLC and a board game Relic, it was fun, but it's different. Still, I'm glad to see another project of theirs, from what people tell about that Rogue Thingy its based on, it has potential to be a great cRPG, can't wait to play it. However still waiting for another Pathfinder game, cR...

Work on Wrath of the Righteous continues, with EE and Season Pass 2 coming in near future. We're not abandoning Pathfinder :)

Of course not. It's simply too early.

Combat is turn-based.

Like, turn-based only? Or turn-based under the hood like your current games (with RTwP and turn-based options)?

Because I'll be massively disappointed if it's turn-based only. You guys set the gold standard for CRPGs in my opinion with the ability to switch between RTwP and turn-based modes on the fly. Pillars of Eternity 2 did this as well, but not as well since you can't switch on the fly in that game.

Honestly a huge step backwards if this won't be the case.

Turn based only. The combat system is drastically different to what you've seen in PF. and RtwP doesn't fit right in it. I am personally a big fan of hybrid system from PF too, but didn't have any problems or disappointment adapting at all. Don't worry.

So is this gonna be a modified form of the tried and true Pathfinder engine Owlcat has created or an attempt at one of the previous Warhammer RPGs, or are they going to create a new system whole cloth?

My guess is the former but looking forward to getting more information...

It's based on the existing engine in many aspects, especially visual, but has different d100 based game mechanics.
