Unfortunately, currently no plans for that. Many people on the team would love it, including myself, but combination of financial, legal and resource management factors makes it quite unlikely. Never say never, of course, who knows. Maybe we'll indeed become big and successful some day to be able to revisit it, but from what I can predict it's not even a topic for discussion in the nearest 5+ years.
Can I ask if there is a workaround available that I could use for now? Even though there is only one item from this loot pool I'm specifically looking for, there may be others I'd be interested in and I don't have a way to tell what else should be sold by the trader.
Don't think it can be helped in any way in the base game. I believe some mods like Toybox have the function to generate items that are present in the game files though, you may want to search in that direction.
