I joined the Grinding Gear Games team almost six years ago, but four years ago today I was lucky enough to become the Community Manager for Path of Exile. These have been among the greatest years of my life. I have learned so much about life, the gaming industry, and myself over this time and I can't express enough how grateful I am to be in this position. Looking at league statistics is interesting for our designers and a good opportunity for us to see how actual player behaviour might differ to what we expected. Today we're sharing more stats from the Betrayal league, including completion of Safehouses, time spent in the Mastermind's Lair and completed challenges. While we're rebalancing many skills in our 3.6.0 expansion, we're also doing a full rework to two existing skills. One of these skills is Flame Totem, which is being repurposed into a divine-themed skill which has new mechanics that interact with Consecrated Ground and new visual effects[webcdn.pathofexile.com] to match its divine abilities.

In addition to its projectile speed and damage being rebalanced, Flame Totem's fiery projectiles will deal physical damage with half the damage converted to Fire. In addition to some new passives in the Templar's area of the skill tree, this should open up some new synergies with physical conversion.

At the end of the next week we'll announce the 3.6.0 expansion and its challenge league. When the announcement goes live, we'll introduce a new set of league supporter packs. This means that in two weeks we're saying goodbye to Betrayal Supporter Packs. While we're hard at work on our upcoming 3.6.0 expansion and its announcement, we're also finishing preparing the next big update for the ongoing Betrayal League. Alongside fixes and improvements for Betrayal, the 3.5.3 patch includes performance improvements and fixes for various crashes and bugs. We're planning to deploy this update by the end of this working week.

At this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this March, Chris will present a talk entitled "Designing Path of Exile to be Played Forever". Last week we posted an outline[www.pathofexile.com] of our development plans for 2019. We also wanted to keep you up-to-date about what we're specifically working on at the moment.

Earlier this week, we deployed Patch 3.5.2[www.pathofexile.com] which addressed many of the remaining bugs with Betrayal. Since then, we have been doing server and client hotfixes for remaining issues. We are keeping a close eye on bug reports and will continue to fix things as they crop up.

We're only in the third week of our Hideout Competition and we're blown away by how many terrific submissions we've already seen. We've collected a few of the highlights so far and put them into a video!

Community member Kammell has arranged a Hardcore Betrayal Duo Race this weekend. While this is not an officially-supported event, we're pleased to encourage the community to run events and engaging in the competitive side of Path of Exile!
