From zany antics to hardcore racing, community streamer ds_lily's stream has it all to keep you entertained! We sat down with Lily to find out what their life is like outside of gaming, check it out!

Hi ds_lily, thank you for taking part in the interview! Please introduce yourself. Hi I'm Lily. You can find me streaming at {LINK REMOVED}https://twitch.tv/ds_lily. I usually participate in races in HCSSF, typically placing in the top 10.

When did you first get into Path of Exile? I first got into Path of Exile a little bit after its release in late 2013. Youtube recommended a video from Kripparrian, and I thought that it looked like a more modern version of games I played growing up that I enjoyed.

Yesterday, we shared a balance manifesto that outlined the upcoming changes to Eldritch Altars. Today, we're sharing a short and sweet FAQ to provide more information.

Can we get the Altar mods on the Map Mod UI? Yes, we've added this in 3.20.

Can you make Altars more readable in the heat of combat? We've discussed community feedback around this, specifically to consider options around instance-pausing, colour indicators or reward symbols. Each of these options has their own drawbacks so we won't be making any changes on this front for now. The best thing to do is to finish killing the surrounding monsters before reading the Altar.

How common are Awakened Gems from the Maven? When you kill the Maven herself, the chance of getting an Awakened Gem is quite common. The drop chance from Maven-witnessed map bosses is a lot lower than this because these fights occur more often. The goal is that they're common enough that it feels worthwhile running Maven-witne... In the Forbidden Sanctum expansion, we're making a number of changes to Eldritch Altars, specifically to their rewards, the monster packs they spawn and the incentives for rushing to map bosses before completing the rest of the map. In addition, we are adding a chance for Maven-witnessed Map Bosses to drop an Awakened Gem (inclusive of the Awakened Gems that are typically exclusive to Maven herself). The overarching aim of these changes is to try to reach a point where the choice between running Maven-witnessed Maps or Eldritch Influence Maps is closer in value while still retaining the gameplay feeling you've come to expect from Eldritch Altars.

TLDR:
  • Altars no longer offer some reward types like gems, influenced items, unique items or maps.
  • The "Basic Currency" reward has been split up into specific currency rewards. For example, they now have "Map Boss Drops Three Vaal Orbs" instead of "Map Boss Drops Three Basic Currency Items".

Can you hear it, Exile? Madness approaches in the Delirium Everywhere event, where a dense fog has taken over almost every zone!

The fog ranges randomly from 10% to 100% Delirium with the minimum and maximum level of Delirium scaling with the level of the zone. This way, some lower level encounters won't be impossibly difficult and higher level encounters won't be incredibly easy. This has all the usual effects — monsters getting buffed, new monsters spawning, reward bars filling with kills, and Simulacrum splinters dropping. To avoid spam-refreshing areas being the best strategy, each area always has the same Delirium percentage, and Delirium reward types are randomised each time they drop.

Delirium Everywhere starts on all platforms at 12pm November 21st (PST). It will end at 12pm November 28th (PST).

In comparison to the last time we ran a Delirium Everywhere event, we've reduced the amount of Delirium that can be applied to zones earlier in the campaign a... Read more

There have been a lot of questions about the upcoming new system for monster mods that was announced in {LINK REMOVED}yesterday's balance manifesto. In today's post, we're providing answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

Since the mods are simplified and separated, does that mean rare monsters will now have more mods on average to compensate? How many mods can a rare monster have now? We're currently playtesting the new monster mod system to determine this. At the moment it's 2-4, but this may change as we continue to iterate.

Will the modifiers' effects be made more intense to compensate for their simplification? These are new mods that have similar themes to old ones, but have new balance values. In many cases these are the sam... Read more

In our upcoming 3.20 expansion, Archnemesis will be replaced with a system that is more similar to the way monster mods worked in the past.

The issues that players often had with Archnemesis were:
  • The keyworded mod names were not fully descriptive of what they did
  • The mods often had multiple effects bundled which made them harder to understand
  • Due to how many effects were included in a single mod, it made too many encounters too complex
  • The way Archnemesis rewards were set up meant that many players felt like they couldn't just kill a monster, they had to consider if they wanted to bring a magic find character in to maximise rewards
The goals of the new system are:
  • Mods do one specific thing
  • Mods say what they do rather than having a thematic name you must learn and remember
  • Encounters are simplified on average while retaining interesting f...

Yesterday, we shared our plans regarding {LINK REMOVED}upcoming changes to Jewels which prompted some questions. In today's post, we've collected some of these questions and their answers.

Can you give us some examples of the numbers on the ailment mitigation modifiers on Jewels? Regular Jewels can roll up to 35% Reduced Duration or Reduced Effect. Abyss Jewels can roll up to 50% Ailment Avoidance.

Will the new Jewel modifiers or existing Jewel modifiers have modifier tiers? No, regular Jewel modifiers do not have tiers. Abyss Jewel modifiers already had tiers, we've just buffed the modifier values on them that benefit ailment mitigation.

Are you removing any corrupted implicit modifiers on Jewels? No

Is the corrupted mod po... Read more

In our upcoming 3.20 expansion, we're making a number of balance changes that we'll present over several balance manifestos that each cover an individual topic. In today's manifesto, we're discussing changes to Jewels, most notably increasing their potential for ailment mitigation.

Problem:
Jewels have modifiers that provide various forms of ailment avoidance or protection. However, because their current values are moderately low, you often need to stack several Jewels in order to have adequate levels of protection. We feel that this is an excessive amount of investment for how necessary ailment mitigation is to a character's build. This issue has been exacerbated by some of these mods being gated behind corruption, making them more expensive and difficult to acquire.

Solution:
We're expanding the pool of mods available on magic and rare Jewels and are making their modifier values more generous so that players have better access to sources of a... Read more
