Hey, sorry about this. To avoid it from happening you can swap to the beta version of the game.
Right click the game > properties > betas. You will only be able to play with others on beta though.

I want to let everyone know that the servers are going to be upgraded over the next few days to stop this from happening again. As part of this upgrade though we have had to unfortunately remove the Australia server and everyone there will now have to connect to Asia which is hosted in Singapore. You will still have the option in the current update but it won't connect you, this is removed in the next update which will hopefully be in the next few days.

This next update also has a lot of optimisations and bug fixes for all the major and most common bugs being reported. You can try out this update on beta right now, see the #read-me on our discord server for more info.

Hey, the update is very close to being ready. It is a complete network rewrite so it's taking longer to get the update out. This update will fix almost every client and server timeout disconnects, all the voice chat issues and a lot of other major bugs.

The crucifix only works if it's in range of the ghost when it starts hunting. The ghost wasn't within the radius of the crucifix.

We have a few fixes you can try:

1. Restart your computer

2. Try running Steam in Admin mode

3. Try playing on the Beta branch.

To access the Beta branch:

Right click Phasmophobia
Click Properties
Select the Betas tab
Click the dropdown and select "beta - unstable build"

They definitely exist. I generally throw down a glowstick a meter or two away from a salt pile that has been disturbed. Footprints come and go. They fade quite quickly.
