I don't think that is a fair analogy at this point in time, even with the plethora of other great mods for it.

I can imagine how things would go if a control ghost mod could be stealthed in on public lobbies and begin spontaneously murdering folks, and having the devs explain that this isn't their doing, it was 3rd party scripts they allowed to go on their game. I just don't see that going well!

Hey, this is pretty much the reason why we are against it as we have no way of filtering mods on the public games

Unfortunately this isn't really possible with Photon (our servers) without allowing a way for hackers to see the invite code and be able to join private games

Hey, we're looking into allowing you to invite friends through Steam invites for both public and private games but I can't give a date for this yet.

How would auto-banning be respectful towards the common, non-cheating, user who wants to experiment, in his own game, in single-player, probably in offline mode on Steam ( I do not know if this is possible or not )? He did nothing wrong torwards any players since there were none. And he was having fun, on his own, in his own private session.

Hey, we ban for player reports so you can technically do what you want in singleplayer just as long as you do not affect the game when you join multiplayer such as editing your save file or changing anything gameplay related.

We do however also ban for hacking the games code which you would also get caught by our detection in singleplayer.

As stated in our code of conduct, none of our bans are automated. You can read it here: https://www.kineticgames.co.uk/code-of-conduct

Okay, so does the dev team still stand by this clause? So, Phasmophobia might not be the only game with it, but it still has it and the devs are still against modding.

Getting a game ban means you lose access to multiplayer, you only terminate the EULA if you uninstall the game, refund it etc.

Comment

Hey, have you made sure that you are using the Oculus OpenXR runtime and not SteamVR?

Comment

Hey, this is a standard clause in every game you play with a EULA.

Baldurs Gate 3's EULA says "Upon termination all licenses granted to you in this License shall immediately terminate and you must immediately and permanently remove the Game from your device and destroy all copies of the Game in your possession."

Dead by daylight EULA says "Upon termination of this Agreement, your right to use the Game shall immediately cease you must immediately uninstall the Game and destroy all copies of the Game in your possession."

I can give more examples but you can look at any game you own and will see the same thing.

Hey, thank you for the post. We really appreciate the feedback on what can be improved.

We are definitely going to be hiring a bigger team in the near future, we are at the moment nearing completion on a new office that will allow us to expand the team a considerable amount. We are currently in a small office so it is unfortunately impossible for the time being.

We'll be working on the lighting system as a priority this week, we'll have news to share on this soon.

Regarding the smudge bug, there was a change a few days before the update released that caused this so it was not the fault of the testers. We'll be making changes to how we release and test updates in the future to allow for a smoother release.

Hey, we've done a complete overhaul of the controller UI navigation for the Progression update which has made navigating through the menus much quicker and easier.

Hey, please join our discord and message our modmail bot. We can help you find what is causing it there. This is usually our cheat detection that is crashing the game.

The last post's comments was full of people showing their dislike about early access patch notes and cj even responded to some of them, there is 0 chance they weren't aware of the feedback or that the community didn't liked it. And they just ignore all of that and do it again ?
No announcement nor info about it on the official channels. They didn't even announced the update was coming tomorrow, didn't even revealed the name of the update. I just click on twitch i see streamers streaming an update called "tempest", i check youtube and there is a 20 minute reaction video. You love to see it.

Pulling stuff like this, putting the community second and streamers first and then asking for a labor of love award for a game thats still in early access. Good moves Kinetic games.

Hey, I understand the frustration and I'm sorry for that. The content creators have been given access to what is essentially the last day of our beta testing. If you see their streams you can see there are still bugs that we are fixing today so we're not holding anything back from anyone.

The patch notes will get things added to them before tomorrow which is why they won't get posted until the update is out.

We only told the content creators yesterday that they were getting early access today as we did not know the release date ourselves. We have been working hard to make sure the update is out in time with a decent length for the Christmas event. Now we know that we can release it, we will post announcements for it.

Unfortunately not, it will just be from when the update is out

Comment

Hey, this will be in the custom difficulty update. You will be able to add them as friends, open their profiles and report them with a "recent players" page in the Journal.

Hey, this is a known issue and we are trying to find the route cause. Can you please either DM me here on Reddit or on Discord and we can try and find what the issue is.

Comment

Hey, this is almost completely fixed for the custom update although there will still be the occasional ghost photo not registering. We've made a lot of changes to the rewards as well so if it does somehow give the wrong photo it won't matter in terms of rewards.

Hey, what microphone or other microphone equipment do you use? There is a known bug where Unity can't access Microphones with a high amount of channels. We have a potential fix but I'm not sure when it will be done.
