I've been putting a fair amount of time into solo incursions, and I've noticed the difficulty settings don't work the way they say they do. If I'm on a map in Alaska or ToC, where the default threat level allows for high level archaean spawns, I'll still get them when playing private incursions on Cautious. Most of the time, it is just annoying in the extreme, but when I'm trying to progress a low-level operator and encounter Apex spawns, it becomes unfun. At this point, I can count on getting an Apex to spawn when it shouldn't be able to about 5% of the time on later maps.Β Is there a way to solve this issue without restricting myself to the lowest difficulty or earliest maps?

Hey there @Factorofunknown

Hate to see that a difficulty option might be bugged, particularly if its ruining your fun.

Can you record a short video showing off a high tier enemy spawn when you're playing on the lower difficulties?

@Factorofunknown Thanks!

To further clarify before we send up a report on this, have you also tested to see if this will happen when playing these maps on the same difficulty with other players, or is this only happening during Solo play?

@Factorofunknown Thanks for getting back to us and no worries at all with checking into multiplayer modes. Just to rule out this issue being caused by any incorrectly installed or corrupt files could you please verify your game files? We are here if you continue to see the higher level Archaean spawning in with the lower difficulty.

@Factorofunknown Apologies, our suggestion to verify the game files was not intended to place blame on your system. We simply try to eliminate as many possibilities and further narrow down the cause for our investigation team. For good measure, please make sure all of the steps in this FAQ article are complete as well. Once those are done successfully, please check and let me know if you see this happening again. I appreciate it!πŸ™

Thanks for the update @Factorofunknown, and no worries!

We've gone ahead and sent all of this info up to the Extraction team, so hopefully we'll have some kind of fix or update for you soon! πŸ™‚

Hiya @Factorofunknown,

In order to continue the investigation about this situation, the team has a couple of questions to ask you:

  • Did you encounter this issue once or multiple times ?
  • How frequently do you encounter this issue?
  • The issue occurred before the release of the new event After Effect, right ?
  • Now that the new event started, does it still occur ?
  • Did you face the issue on another map of the New York region?
  • Did you encounter the issue in a solo game session with another Operator?
  • Was there any Archean mutation?

Many thanks !
