I don't believe it should affect things, but moral of the story, don't do things you shouldn't be doing.

Wait, just to be crystal clear, I can use this to invite my friends who don’t have game pass/access to the game… and they can play with me(without me?) until the end of it?

Cuz this is def going to drag some of my more, how do you say… cautions(?) friends into the game, and with the gameplay loop as addictive as this, will snag them.
And with as little as I’ve seen you guys promoting this, this is excellent form of marketing, a direct way to influence word by mouth.

You can invite 2 friends on any platform to play alongside you for 14 days. It is linked to the Free Trial so they will either be able to play with you in a squad for 14 days with the Buddy Pass or for 2 hours on their own with the Free Trial.
When they are playing on their own they will be using up the 2 hour Free Trial timer but that will freeze when they are playing with you.
May someone explain to me how a friend, who got invited by me, download the trial on pc?
There is no link and in the launcher it only shows the buy-options.

Is there any way I could actually buy the game for my friends though? I don't see any uplay keys for this and uplay does not have a built in game gift feature like steam does.
I want to buy the game for one of my friends, but don't appear to have the option to. Any ideas?
Ubisoft Connect doesn't currently have any "gifting" functionality unfortunately. It may be a feature in the future, but that's just an assumption as I don't have visibility on these aspects.
