I've been away for Rainbow Six for quite awhile. The new online only Siege was actually great fun, but I missed what the original game was. Where you could plan missions, execute A.I. operations objectives etc. A very tactical game based on scenarios that could happen in the real world. I've longed for a return to that with so many foreign(war) and domestic real life scenarios to pull from going on in the world right now. So when I saw a new R6 game was coming out next month I never even heard of and that it can done solo I got excited. Then I watch trailers and it leaves me really confused on what this title is really providing. I see we are dealing with aliens which makes me wonder why the Clancy estate doesn't request the immediate removal of the late authors name on the title as it's clearly straying from what he wrote about and his vision....BUT OK...we have aliens. Alright, not what I hoped for but maybe it can be OK. So can anyone enlighten me on the over so hazy details here?
- So you can go solo and pick from other spec ops person to go along with you. Based on how maps are supposed to be procedurally generated, I am guessing going over intel, building plans for entry points etc etc etc and planing a proper mission is out. So is control of these A.I.like in Ghost Recon? Hopefully better?
- Will there be extra controls based on their specialty, like...I dunno, ready phasers be among the commands you can issue them? Can we issue them orders for proper door breaches or however you breach an aliens nest?
- If a friend joins, though I rarely play multiplayer games, can they take over one of the A.I. ?
Like I say, it's a bit too fantastical for a fan of Tom Clancy or the original game, but if have a good set of orders to issue these A.I. and they are half-ways intelligent, I guess kicking some alien butt could fun.
