So this issue started last weekend with PS4 version of Rainbow Six Siege and has now continued on PS5. I think the issue is with how fps is handled in Siege. My console makes some kind of weird electric buzzing sound that goes up and down in volume during matches. The noise starts when I open the game and continues until I close it. If I keep v-sync off, fps would rise close 1000 and that is when my console sounds like it is about to crash. The sound is unbearable. This happens only when I play Siege. In other games the sound of the console is rather minimal and doesn't bother me but as soon as I launch Siege I hope it wont harm my console. I also received the error code CE-108255-1 when playing Siege yesterday. I Don't know if it is related to my noise issue. Has anyone else had this constant electric noise issue when playing Siege?

Hi JoneKone.! I'm terribly sorry to hear that your PS5 has been making this noise when playing Rainbow Six Siege. It appears that other PS5 users have experienced this as PlayStation addressed it in this FAQ. Have you considered grabbing a video of the problem and uploading it to their support team? If you mainly notice this noise with Siege, then the fan may just be working faster than it does for other games. Still, having this investigated by them may help!

Thanks for reporting this issue to us everyone. So far the only other reports I have seen on this have been for FPS high frame rate games such as Call of Duty. We will continue to keep tack of reports of players console fans behaviour in this forum.

If anybody else has videos please post here, if you have made any adjustments to the games settings please post them here too.

If you haven't already done so, I would also reach out to Sony about this too and send them your videos.

You should be able to contact them here -

Hello archdoodler007,

Welcome to the Forums

As has already been mentioned, do you find this is also related to FPS spikes?

We also suggest forwarding any videos onto Sony PlayStation to to discuss this further;

Hey archdoodler007, thanks for your response there!

Can I just double-check if you have V-Sync on or off? Also, any chance you could share screenshot of your in-game video settings?

I've been playing it myself on PS5 and did not encounter anything similar, therefore just curious whether this may have to do with the actual settings in-game.

Hello archdoodler007, thanks for posting about this and updating us. If you would like to upload or clip or screenshot of your settings to a video hosting website such as Imgur or Youtube then send us a link to us, that would allow us to view this.

How does your console feel (please be careful!) when the noises appear, does the console feel warmer as though the PSU, fans or internal GPU and CPU inside are working harder to ramp the frames up?

Also was anyone able to get a reply from Sony regarding this noise issue?

I would also like to give credit to dh5alpha for your update, this is a very intriguing issue at the moment, so thank you for finding more information on this issue.
