I have a problem with the voice chat in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. i never tried to use voice chat but when i tried i found out that i can't hear anyone and i can't talk to anyone.

text chat is working
game sound is working
my mic work in discord and in windows tests so it's not a mic problem

What i tried till now:

  • made sure windows is updated
  • i ran r6s as adminstrator
  • i disabled the exclusive mode for the speakers and mic
  • i made sure the the speakers and mic is set to default
  • i set VoiceChatCaptureMode to 1 in the GameSettings.ini
  • changed the DNS to 1.1.1.1
  • close any other application that might be using the mic

i also tried to do all of the above on another pc and didn't help

The setup:
Game: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
OS: Windows 10
Internet: Ethernet
DNS Servers: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
Launcher: Ubisoft Connect

if some one can help me i have trying to make it work for like a week now ...

Hello @A_Razwan thank you for getting in touch with us and thank you for sharing details of the steps you have tried so far.

First of all, I would recommend looking through Microsoft's own support guide to try and fix this audio issue with the voice chat, as this guide covers the most common causes of audio issues on PC, some of the steps you have tried are also included in this extensive guide >
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-sound-problems-in-windows-10-73025246-b61c-40fb-671a-2535c7cd56c8

In case this audio issue is caused by a corrupted audio game file in your games installation, please also verify your game files in the game launcher as verifying may fix this >

Should none of these steps help you, I would next recommend creating a private support ticket with us, via live chat or email by using this link > https://www.ubisoft.com/help/contact

We would also need the following information from your system files, to aid us in our investigation, thank you >
