Hi there,

Starting About 1.5-2 weeks ago on a Sunday my Rainbow Six Siege was failing to open up game. I would hit play and the game would try starting up but eventually crash, prompting me to send a crash report. I had managed to resolve the crashing by reinstalling both Siege and Uplay, but I then started to encounter another issue.

I would click play in the Uplay app, then I would get a Pop-up asking if I should give Rainbow Six Siege permission "to make changes to device", and once I confirmed this pop up I would be left with the Siege cover title infinitely loading and thus not actually opening the game.

Currently, the only thing that I've found I can do to open the game like normal is to enter the windows directory for Siege and run the RainbowSixSiege.exe file in Admin mode.

My hope would be that I can start to launch Siege from Uplay like I normally would (and used to be able too). Any help/support that could be provided would be appreciated please.

I will attach a screenshot of what happens after I click confirm on the aforementioned pop-up. If you need more information/clarification from me regarding my issue feel free to ask.

Thank you for your time,

Kind Regards, Acecard

P.S. I copied and pasted this text from trying to contact support yet the chat button was blanked out, so there are no attachments in this email. Still any help that could be provided would be appreciated please.

Hello Acecard! I understand this must be a very frustrating issue and I'll do my absolute best to help you.

When you mentioned Windows was asking permission to make changes, my immediate thought was that this might be a Windows permissions issue.

Can you please advise if Uplay & Rainbow Six Siege are installed in their default locations, or perhaps on a different hard drive?

If they are installed in their default locations, you may have an error with Windows or you security settings are too high. Here are some suggestions -

- Click the Windows icon
- Type "UAC" and select the Control Panel option in the list
- Check to make sure you're happy with the current User Account Control setting, and it's not too possessive

To check to Windows permission issues, you can try running SFC (System File Checker). This support article will explain how to do that: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...m-file-checker

Finally, you could make sure that both Uplay & Rainbow Six Siege always run as administrator. To do that you simply right click on the application > Properties > Compatibility > Run this program as administrator

I know we have covered a lot of possibilities but I really hope this helps you. Please let us know how it all goes!

Thank you for your reply. I tried the command prompt solution and nothing appears to have happened.

In actuality, once I unchecked the "run as administrator box" for rainbow six siege it appears to be working like normal right now. So, for now it's fixed. Uplay runs as an administrator, but Siege doesn't though it seems all good.

Thanks again for your reply and ideas.

Cheers Acecard
