So I have been experiencing huge FPS fluctuations in-game whereas I had between 110 and 160 fps all the time. I have contacted Ubisoft Support to give me a hand and they've helped me a lot! We've done many thing in order to improve stuff such as updating drivers, freeing up space on the SSD where the game is installed, disabling services and boot-up programs, closing background apps, etc.

I have a 144hz monitor so I would like to have 144fps at minimum all the time instead of it going down to a 2 digit value sometimes! Please tell me where I can improve and as last resort, which hardware should I upgrade:

Resolution: 1920x1080x144 (not willing to decrease for performance)
FOV: 90 (not willing to decrease for performance)
Everything else in the Graphics tab is on the minimum except Shadow Quality - Medium and Render Scaling - 100 (1920x1080).

Specs:
i5-9400F
GTX 1660
32GB DDR4
Windows 10

Hey! Thank you for contacting us, I hope you are well.

It's great knowing that you have received some support from us already. I will do my best to offer you some suggestions, and perhaps the rest of the community can do the same.

My understanding is that you should be able to consistently play with 144 FPS, especially with a GTX 1660 and 1080p.

I'd like to ask some questions -

- When playing, is your CPU or GPU at a high usage percentage?
- What monitor are you using? Is it capable of going above 1080p?

Using Task Manager, set the game to High Priority. This has been known to help some players.

I hope that helps!

My monitor is capable of displaying 4K resolution despite the fact it's FHD, as it'll downscale the 3840x2160 resolution to give a better image.
The game is already set to High Priority and runs as admin.
Thanks for the update!

Are there any other programs you typically tend to run in the background when playing?

Do you happen to have Hardware Acceleration enabled in Discord?

It may be worth turning it off for testing purposes and seeing if your frame rate increases at all.

Let us know how you get on!

That's great to hear! Have you been able to play a fair amount of games after implementing these changes? I'm curious to know if enabling it has helped your FPS the long run.

Hey SIC_iksz!

As far as hardware goes, upgrade should definitely make things smoother, however you can still see whether any improvements can be made. In order to do so, have a look at steps outlined in the following article and see whether you notice any change. Additionally, just as BOZZ.ZERONE suggested, some players mentioned that they have better performance with Vulkan so if you haven't already, you can give it a go.

Keep us updated and should you have any questions in the meantime, let us know!
