I don't know if anyone else has been running into this, but ever since the most recent free weekend, the number of hackers per game has gone through the roof. The most recent of these hacks is very startling: the a hacker forcing your game to crash. No lie this has happened to myself and several of my friends, and even an entire lobby at once. Tonight we were in a squad, and randomly all of our games crashed simultaneously (verified since we are all on discord communicating). Thinking this is odd, we send a crash report and then relaunch, reconnect to unranked match, and find all but two people in the lobby have been kicked. Everyone slowly filters back into the match, and in chat everyone reports their game crashing in an odd manner. Half a round later, everyone's games crashes, again SIMULTANEOUSLY. At this point we are all convinced its a hacker. Attempt to relaunch and rejoin again, and find all of us have 60+ minute abandon bans, which cannot be removed.
One of my friends also had this happen in another match a few days ago where someone in chat admitted they could force a persons game to crash, and then forced his game to crash, and when he relaunched he had a 120 hour ban (didn't even know that was possible), which was only resolved by contacting ubi support to remove it.
This hack is definitely ruining the experience, and raises the question the of security of the game as an application on my system, because forcing my game to crash locally should not be possible. In fact in windows event viewer, there was a warning raised that an application did not have the security permission to access my local machine at the time the game was forced to crash.
Until I know that this type of hack has been resolved, and the game is secure enough that it will not allow a bug into my system, I will not be playing Rainbow Six.
