Post

Rocket League is getting ready to spring forward in March with the March Update. The update will be live on all platforms on March 10 at 10 a.m. PDT (5 p.m. UTC). Here's everything you can expect on release day:

Blueprint Trade-In

Once the update is live, you'll be able to trade in Blueprints to get a Blueprint of a higher rarity, just like you can with free items. Trade five Blueprints from the same series and same rarity to get one of higher rarity in return!

Fix for Inventory Filters

Speaking of Blueprints, inventory management is also getting a fix. Any filters you set when viewing your inventory will stay active until you exit your inventory. You'll even be able to change item tabs while keeping your filters. This also means you'll be able to trade in items of a specific rarity, and those filters will remain active after the trade. We hope this makes the trading process a bit easier.

Changes to Default Settings

I'll ask if there was a reason for that decision, but I'm surprised you can't do that right now.

Can you say why? Engine problems? Spaghetti code? Dave Hagewood doesn't want any changes to the game until Epic takes over?

Well mainly because I work with a team and can't just "make that kind of call". No one can.

As far as production goes, we look at all sorts of problems or features for the game, triage what's the most important/pressing issues or features for every section of the game - online, client, ui, etc - and then build a schedule to get things done.

This is understandable. However, I think I speak on the behalf of this community when I say that some bugs in the inventory space must be fixed. Specifically the filters resetting after trade-ups/navigation, and favorite items being un-favorited if their certification was updated.

100%. Bugs will still be logged and we always want to improve the experience. That's why we are here.

I'm not saying things won't get fixed, just that a reply =/= "itshappening.gif"

Again, why was it asked in a threatening way in response to that comment, and not with integrity months ago?

As of now you are downvoted for that comment, do you really think the community would downvote you for an honest attempt to gauge interest?

Why has there never been a poll here on reddit (where you direct everyone to come for any thoughts)?

Finally, you have ignored feedback on rewards the last few seasons, making it even more unlikely this was actually to gauge interest.

Respectfully, I didn't ask the question in a threatening manner, and I think you are projecting a bit. Virtually every comment I make on the subreddit gets at least a downvote or two -- it just comes with the territory.

Regarding polls: I've avoided running polls on here because public polls tend to be tainted by stronger opinions/posts, but definitely food for thought for future plans. Thanks! :)

You all are amazing and your posts are super helpful and insightful. I really appreciate the time you took to think them through!

I want to call out that just because I reply or agree with any sentiment, that doesn't mean it's happening :)

Why wasnt a poll done at anytime, on new rewards?

Too many times i see you being unprofessional. The community deserves so much better.

Gauge interest huh?

Yes -- look at all the replies and threads tied to my question! There's some pretty healthy conversation happening here in regards to PBs as rewards. :)

I like that a lot.

I enjoy designing cars, it's an under appreciated part of the game. I may not use all of them but it is nice to keep them around.

That's awesome.

I'm surprised we don't have a "RATE MY RIDE" weekly Reddit posting. :)

It would be nice if the filters were applied until you left the "Manage Inventory Menu" or they were changed by the user.

I will verify this, but that might be fixed in an upcoming update. We noticed that when applying a filter and then tabbing around the garage/inventory the UI forgets what you filtered. We fixed that.

I feel like it could be good if they were bundled together under one item and the different owned colors or certifications could then be selected via a submenu.

I totally feel you on this one. We are looking into how to make that work better.
