I get home from a holiday at about 10 game time on Sunday! Will I be able to start and complete the slime event if I start then? I read that you could claim daily tools you missed so was wondering whether it’s feasible to do them all at once?
Yup, you'll receive any basic tools you've missed up until the end of Monday. You can also get two golden tools for free just by opening TH which give increased rep. Monday should be enough time to use them all up. :)

Ironmen won't be able to recieve the physical set of armour as it has stats (tier 65>70>75).
You'll however be able to get the pet, cosmetic armour set, slime launcher, rest, emote, slimeball and mystery boxes which will only contain gp for irons.

Is the personal progress for the whole event or is that per "day". e.g. it says "Day 1/5".
The progress bars shown are for the whole event.
The day X/5 is just to help you know which day we're currently on and what the current skills are. :)

How did you guys come up with the event? We're all asking at Rimmington, it's very random. Just curious if there's a reason or just random.
I looked at my desk and saw a pink slime toy someone gave me as a gift. Honestly.
Rimmington seemed like a good location as it's normally pretty quiet over there and could do with some action :p. We thought the crater could use a rest for the time being. Poor rabbits.
Anyone know if I can save the tools for a day with a skill I want xp in? Or do you just have to use up the ones you get on whatever skills are available that day?
You can hold onto your tools if you wish. They're not reset each day etc, so over the course of the event you'll end up with 500 total. :)

It may shock you but the Demonic Skull actually doesn't give XP in the form of "BXP", only when it's DXP it does that :)
agility is a bit of an rng shitfest, tho
i believe hefin at 99 would offer the highest base xp so everyone will be doing it during hefin hour with the agility juju pot which makes the person who gets the most free shortcuts the winner

The best base XP will be from Wildy course with Demonic Skull/Wildy Sword 2, so if your clan can keep you safe as you go through the course that's the best way to go or play it safe with Hefin :)
Honestly chosen the worst skill possible to pilot the skilling cup. I know some people like Agility, but I'd confidently say that the majority of players hate the skill and half of the reasoning behind why you chose Agility is kind of laughable.
Which means that it could be fun because of the associated clan rewards behind it! :)
No, that's not going to make doing agility for the skilling cup fun at all.
I would have thought that something more XP intensive and grindy, like woodcutting, mining, hunter or Runecrafting would have been chosen as the XP would have been more 'intense'. ie: Regular woodcutting vs Crystalising Acacia trees...Where as for agility you're just doing Prifddinas agility course during vos.

Not true whatsoever, VoS is disabled and in this the best XP would actually be a Demonic Skull with Wildy Sword 2, however that carries a risk vs reward.
So there's options to take here :)

I will try do my best to be blunt and quick to the point. These types of things would normally interest me. Especially since it allows over 200m xp tracking.
However in the past jagex have failed or been profoundly bad at giving out the rewards for these competitions.
I would like to participate but I will not bother until I can see this pilot has some integrity and professionalism this time round.. I understand Shauny is taking the reins this time so I hope him all the best. I just stopped putting my trust into hoping something works correctly > Waiting to see it does anymore.
Have faith in me these prizes will be delivered quickly and efficiently, I'm passionate as all hell about this and I'll do my damnedest to make sure it has integrity from the get-go
