This was an update 2 months ago about it, was still awaiting engine work..
Since it's a TAPP day today I guess we can give it a shot and tag /u/Mod_Asherz and /u/JagexMoltare again for some more info?
I can understand all these tags get annoying and I apologise for that, but the clan community is apparantly getting very frustrated by the lack of updates/communication :/

Really hoping to get any ETA on that at some point since I know quite a few people are also waiting on that :s

So sadly no more news on this at the moment. Due to team shuffles and everyone focusing on "Unfinished Business". The Platform team are still swamped with work (there are only about 4 of them, working on Main and OSRS (not counting NXT as I don't need work from them for this)) so sadly it is still "in their todo list". I'm not sure about the Ninja backlog. Might be worth talking to /u/Shaunyowns about it???

Sorry we have been a bit quiet on the Clan front. At the moment it is just a bit of a slow process while teams get back into their stride.

Thanks all for the great feedback - we're all really excited about this and glad you are too. Couldn't resist giving a sneaky preview but as I mentioned on the stream yesterday all the UI is completely placeholder atm. We are testing out various options to optimise for phones and tablets so it works as well as possible, so please keep the the feedback and suggestions coming and we'll share more on this as soon as we can.

OK I have added this to the Ninja list of fixes. I can not guarantee when this will be done, but it is at least on their list of things.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to provide you a quick update on the chat window changes. After listening to your feedback we’ll be taking another look at the UI and coming up with a design that takes your needs into account, but also the needs of new players.

The change we made on Monday was to present information in a more understandable way. Results of playtests and analytics suggest that the chat window and a new player’s ability to interact with other players is somewhat overwhelming. The result of this is that many of these players are put off from communicating with other players in the game, which is a bad thing because a player that is involved with the community gets into the game quicker and forms relationships which keeps them enjoying the game.

Hope this helps you to understand our reasoning behind the change.

It is currently waiting on someone from engine to "sanity" check it to make sure it is actually feasible. So for the moment it is on hold. Engine are a bit slammed with work so not sure when they will get around to looking at it.

The minimum size of 800x600 is enforced on all platforms now, but on Linux it is implemented without scrollbars due to limitations of the windowing library used there (SDL), this is unlikely to change

The launcher staying visible on Linux is a known low priority bug

What do you like about it, what would you like to change?

As someone who's interested in absolute completion the achievement system is perfect for me, sadly this isn't what I hoped for at all.

Current issues:

  • Path system seems useless to me as a high level player.
  • Some of the paths seem redundant, just completed two different ones where all I had to do was teleport to GWD and Tollheim
  • Pictures are pointlessly large. The majority don't convey any useful information e.g. I don't know which task set level, easy, medium, etc most tasks belong to. The rest appear to be the same basic image of the logo. Also the image of the teleport symbol are horribly stretched (see picture). Comp/trim/MQC should use pictures of the cape.

A few comments and questions;

"Path system seems useless to me as a high level player." The path system is primarily aimed at new and returning players. It's there to give them a set of short term goals to reach high level achievements. As a high level player yourself you probably wont benefit from it as much. That being said, what kinds of paths would interest you as a high level player?

Some of the paths seem redundant, just completed two different ones where all I had to do was teleport to GWD and Tollheim This ties into the point above. You're a high level player coming to that path, probably after gaining access to GWD and killing a boss or two. All that was left was for you to use the teleport again to unlock an achievement.
