Who cares? It’s a ring, it’s visually distinct, I’d rather that artist’s time be spent on something impactful.
Literally this.
Couldn't you have waited until after the Wildy Wyrm event was over to update?
We try to consider this as much as possible - we even moved our standard update time to 10:15 Game Time for this entire reason. This likely just got overlooked due to the later deployment on this one unfortunately. Sorry we busted up your Wildy Worm plans!
Was given to staff during the Arch release. It's the monolith
The Rex Matriarchs were a triple threat of dangerous dinosaur dames that challenged you to branch out of one combat style and try another - but now we're adding a fourth to the mix!
Check here to find out more - https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/osseous-launch---this-week-in-runescape
Please note that the update does not launch until 14:00 BST.

I miss when Jagex used to do this. Maybe /u/jagexdoom will help bring it back?
Lots of lovely-voiced JMods could serenade us with lore and regaling our tales of how we got here - I'm sure something like this could be an excellent way to welcome folks back for Group Ironman, perhaps? Or how we got to our Story Quests later on in 2024?
Next Bank Holiday is in August so I think we will be alright for a while.
I see so make the CD refresh dependent on the DoT stack, making kerapacs wristwraps a sure way to proc it. That makes sense. In that same line of thinking, could we give "DoT insta stacking" a name then? Perhaps instead of making the player "empowered," we call this mechanic an "ability empowerment?"
For example, kerapacs wristwraps could read: "For six seconds after casting dragon's breath, the Combust ability (or DoT abilities) is/are empowered." And for the T95s: "empowered abilities refresh their CDs on use." Possibly opening up other items to the empower mechanic too. Where empowerment means: "This ability deals 25% more damage, and DoT abilities deal their damage instantly."
I love thinking through these things, what do you think?
yeah, sounds like a nice way of distinguishing it, empowered may be too generic (good or bad thing im unsure, but e.g. you could argue wrack & ruin is just 'empowered' wrack but that sort of wording seems good
Is the magic golem outfit getting some sort of teleport to the D&D as part of this rework?
hadn't planned to so far, but it probably should have some kind of benefit like the sentinel outfit does for evil trees
i'll note this down - might not be a teleport (if it was, likely a once-a-day type deal as hunting the star is a fairly integral part to the D&D), could be some other bonus (e.g. extra stardust)
Cool but I don’t think many people do the shooting stars anymore.
I used to like the shooting star and evil tree back in 2011.
the lil guy would be going out with a rework of the shooting star D&D, so hopefully would make it more popular again :)
It's a good point and something I've been thinking about, but something that's absolutely resolveable, we could, as an example split that effect in half to be:
x% chance to insta stack dot + whenever you insta stack a dot refresh CD (this would mean you always have the RNG chance, but you can essentially force it with kerapacs & still get the CD refresh)
This is made with 2d assets with some simple layering. It's not actually 3d like old HD version had.
I asked mod Giragast about this, it's not actually 2D, it is using the real map data/world areas to generate, he just didn't have time to add in the camera pan this gamejam
Respectful to FSW players or to rich mains that bought tokens?
Both are valid to be fair, but much more for the FSW players. However we introduce them, the current feeling it should be in a way that doesn't massively undercut the time people invested in FSW to get them.
Mod Daze is a legend for looking exactly like Andrew Gower, the streets never forget
Dude.
Aw thanks all! I do feel a bit bad because I'm actually not working on either them for this game jam actively - the first I've parked for a bit because I wanted to have a break from interface work for a bit (was working on the calendar at the same time) and the drop storage was more speculative to see if there was appeal - based on reaction there's an interest but an obvious concern around afk behaviour so needs some more design consideration before I pick it up actively.
However, I have been working on something for gamejam I've had in the back of my head for several years and I'm very excited to at least get it as a prototype in game - whether it makes it into game or not is a big question for the future and I don't want to say too much right now but will mention it's something around Slayer.
And beyond that I get the absolute joy of working on Group Ironman next so can't wait to start talking to you all about that in the near future!
"the most dangerous pile of bones this side of Catherby" Well now I want to know what is the most dangerous pile of bones on the other side of Catherby
Ngl sometimes I just write stuff to try sound cool and interesting, I wasn't worrying to much about there being another specific pile of bones that could have been relevant but if there is a good contender out there I am happy to pretend I was predicting something in the future.

Any update on DXP tokens
Can we see that old roadmap now? Just for settling curiosity sakes and also because it helps us understand the process that lead us to the new.
I very much owed that response on DXP Tokens, thank you for reminding me!
I just responded on the original comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1cugb29/comment/l56w1ne/
Seeing the old Roadmap is an interesting question... I think it's unlikely, as a couple of the previous projects could end up in a future Roadmap based on the survey. We wouldn't want to steal their thunder in that sense. Assume no, but... maybe?
