It'll put 1 thread at 100% no matter what (pushing 144fps on 1440p) yet unable to sustain 144 across the board, with some areas pushing me down to 70-80. Hopefully I'll be able to achieve it with the update.

Might be the best update this year, atleast for me. Once you go 144 you cant really go back to 60...

Well the theoretical max increase is 2x fps, you'd be doing very well to hit that, but you should see an improvement

Would like to know so I can take my time overclocking specific cores, see what their limits are :D

There is already multithreading in many areas of the game (loading, animation, audio, particles, picking, irradiance, shader compilation, the list goes on...), this change I am talking about is specifically rendering, and it is splitting it into one additional thread, as this is as far as it is possible to go in OpenGL

In an ideal case this would result in 2x maxxed our threads, in reality usually more like a 100% and a 75% (ignoring the other low load threads), with the order (ie main or render thread bottleneck) dependent on settings and quality of OpenGL driver

We all did, though I held out for it longer than anyone (more to play Devil's Advocate). It's an awesome idea with a ton of potential. The main reasons it was edged out are that...

a) some players think we already have it with Ports/the Arc (those are only thematically associated, not mechanically)

b) some think of it more as a joke (which is why, in our opinion, we would need to showcase it first to show its potential and see it's not a joke)

c) as some implementations of parts of the concept might be seen by some as a minigame (but then Dungeoneering has that label yet is consistently many players' favourite skill)

Archaeology scored less well as a concept (because people cannot help but envision their own ideas), but scores much more highly now that we've delivered our vision of it as a skill. We could easily achieve the same with sailing (be it in the form of a skill or some other type of content).

I'd recommend finishing Zarosian 1 from Isaura, then do museum - Zamorakian 1 from Velucia.

They require the same artefacts and given your level, it's faster to excevate the required artefacts than Zarosian 1 (albeit you will sacrafise some XP because restoring the artefacts from zamorakian 1 will give less XP on average.)

It is probably an unpopular opinion, but let's see how today's change to the drop rates plays out.

The changes that have been made today significantly reduce the drop rate of a inquisitor staff pieces on accounts with a low Archaeology level, in particular in comparison to someone training with a high level Archaeology at the higher level hot spots.

They have a website for a reason.

We did put the hotfix on both the game update and patch notes newsposts when the tweet was posted and highlighted it as a hotfix.

Why the f**k is this on twitter?

I don't have twitter, hey Jagex, if you're going to use social media for updates, can you post all information on all social media, or centralize it on the rs website/ingame?

Extremely irritating that we're supposed to follow you on all forms of social media if we want any hope of keeping up with changes/updates.

We added this to both the game update newspost and Patch Notes newsposts when we posted the tweet and highlighted it as a hotfix.

I will have a look tomorrow!

The difference between the chance of receiving a piece from the fort compared to the praetorium is massive. You'll most certainly see most staff pieces coming from the praetorium.

These changes were tackling multiple issues. The base drop chance being decreased for both the staff pieces and the spear tip was made to decrease the number of these items coming into game to bring it closer to what we intended.

I've done the work to increase the bad luck mitigation from 3 -> 5 and it is currently with QA. In fact I believe it was being looked at earlier today.

Looking to get it out as soon as we can!

Unfortunately the tweet doesn't go into detail about what has actually changed, so I'll give you a summary:

Inquisitors staff piece:

  • Extremely rare chance while training within the fort when the pylon is active
  • Rare chance while training within the praetorium, where chance increases relative to the level of the hotspot you're excavating
  • Praetorium chance is increased if the pylon is active
  • Note: The base drop chance of receiving a staff piece from the praetorium has been decreased from what it was prior to the hotfix

Spear of Annihilation tip:

  • The drop chance has been decreased
