It was removed from the build last minute and as a result it did not make it into game, hence we've removed it.

We added a couple of new video effects with Archaeology (Depth-of-field, highlighting) which could be making your computer use a few more resources than it can handle. A lot of the new areas are also a bit more graphically demanding than usual, especially since there's a lot more players gathered in those areas. It sounds like a hardware issue that your CPU cooler can't keep up with the amount of work your CPU is doing, so I'd check:

  • Make sure your CPU fan/cooler is running properly and not full of dust
  • Make sure your CPU isn't overclocked too much

If you want an easy short-term fix just for Runescape, you can turn the framerate down in the graphics settings:

  • Settings -> Graphics -> Foreground FPS

Try setting that to 120 or 60 to reduce the amount of work your computer will be doing.

Hope that helps!

Just posting to say that the staff was brought up in a meeting earlier today and we discussed it at length.

We will share information on any potential changes when we've nailed them down.

Just to tag on to this, it feels like the amnesty restrictions are pretty consistent except for a few areas.

  • Why are Skillchompas allowed but not incense sticks?
  • Why did you enable the Resourceful Aura before the amnesty end but restrict other auras still?
  • Lootscape still provides consumables which are arguably stronger than the Tomes.

I think all three of these are good questions, and I don't know if there is a very good satisfying answer.

My personal take away is that before we require an other amnesty period we sit down and refresh/clarify the amnesty rules to catch all the edge cases, as of which some are described above. Then also publish these ahead of time so we can gather community feedback and make further iterations if required, so that the rule set is clear and everyone agrees with it.

Happy with these notes, but I also didn't see anything about improving the bad luck mitigation either :/

Going 20/20/10 on a trio when each artifact takes like 8 minutes each to excavate is really really disheartening, and trios are especially vulnerable to bad runs.

Some changes aren't as quick to make and require more time. Rest assured we're ware of these things and chipping away at them.

I have fixed this and it's currently in QA. I believe Mod Cel was actually looking at it this morning, so hopefully we can get this live next week.

Nope, you needed the ring of visibility as well.

Since this update, you can now access the praetorium if the pylon is active, or all shadow anchors have been activated.

We're looking into all of the various things that transport items to your bank and then looking to divert items appropriately (e.g. material storage or metal bank).

As we're invesigating this to blanket cover all interactions and future proof it for any additional storage types in the future, it may take more time that expected to implement. With this being the case, we didn't want to avoid pushing out the imp souled change that we already made before thinking about a better more long term solution.

Hey there,

I've looked into this a little bit. Currently it's part of a setting
Miscelanios -> doomslayer warnings -> Wilderness Entry

So the quick fix is turn this back on to be prompted with a warning before you teleport.

This settings both regulates manually climbing over the barrier as well as teleports into the wildy.

Some other teleports, the lvl 19 wildy Teleport & wildy lode stone fore example, will still have an additional warning. We'll get a feedback job in to smooth this out and make it more consistent, so that we can hopefully stop more wilderness lures!
