That way players will not be safe at any time and nights could be treated as fog of war/global events that lasts for 15 minutes before getting back to normal. The rest of the time flow would be between mornings and late evenings. We could even keep the nights also, just making

Ah, one more thing that sounds interesting could be full TEC1 control over the daytime and weather (the artificial dome covers the island).TEC1 could switch from day to night at any point and introduce more monsters during that time.

And what would you do to increase gameplay quality during the nights?

I don't see any benefits of it. So, what I was thinking was the following:
Option 1. Increase the ambient a bit on officials but add the black fog that will reduce the visibility distance (NVGs would remove the fog). Private servers would be able to tweak that.

2. people get into their bases to sort the loot
3. people turn on the apps that control the gamma

Another thing to think about. Right now we have standard daytime/nighttime intervals. We did tweak the dark part to be shorter, we adjusted and allowed admins to control the brightness (dark intensity) but it still feels that when the night arrives following things happen:

1. Individual loot limiter - limits number of the specific items that can be spawned BP_Weapon_SVD_Dragunov=7; (no more than 7 SVDs can be on the level, traders included)

2. GROUP LOOT LIMITER - same as above but works for group of items.

A question for server admins. When we are talking about loot control, what options would you like to have?
