Hey folks,

We’ve been investigating the black screen issue that’s unfortunately still affecting Switch players and we’ve discovered a workaround to prevent it from happening. If you disable aim assist in Settings -> Gameplay -> “Aim Assist Enabled”, you should no longer encounter the black screen.

I know it’s not ideal and I’m sorry I don’t have better news while we work on the actual fix.

Thanks to the many players who have helped us track this down and test out the possible causes!

Let's be real, we're all both people at different times, and that's ok.

Folks don't get worked up about something they don't care about. If players magically stopped complaining or expressing critical feedback about certain aspects of the game, we'd be far more concerned than we are by folks coming here to share their experiences.

As long is the critique stays focused on the work, and not the worker, it's all gravy and welcome feedback.

Where can I find info on upcoming streams

Our socials! Also, if you look on Twitch, you'll see a schedule tab with times. Tuesday is our community streams with me, Wednesday night is office hours with Seth, Thursday night is after hours with Andy. See you there!

I really hope this didn't come off as bashing, I just see the amount of friends who have moved away from it because of the mentioned.

It's really frustrating because I love this game but can't get friends into it because they don't want to get stomped. I hope ya'll find a balance soon. Thank you for the response.

It didn't, and I understand and empathize with what you're saying here.

Hopefully your friends will give Clash a look when that comes out.

The problem with developers is that when your game is good, you always think you're right about everything. Even when you lose a large part of your players base.

By no means do we think we're right about everything, and are very quick to be critical of ourselves.

For example: The point that we're working on Seasonal content (the Chapters) is meant to directly address the criticism that we need to give players more reasons to keep playing Spellbreak. We agree with this sentiment, and have prioritized it accordingly :).

We're not afraid to take a stance, and will acknowledge when we are wrong about said stance.

Hey I wanted to post something like this, I love this freaking game, I just started a few weeks ago but put in the practice to get 5-6 solo wins a night. I love this game. It was not fun getting started though.

I've posted this everywhere, if they don't work on making it accessible to new players with something like skill based matchmaking or maybe arena modes to learn the combat. Most new players are just gonna get frustrated and uninstall, you've got these poor level 6's going up against level 40+'s.

I feel awful every time I run into an obviously new player, I know the pain. On top of that grinding all the classes to 6 gets difficult, but you've got to just to get the talents to compete.

I really do hope they work on these things because I'd love to see this game take over but if they don't encourage new players to stick with it somehow, and stop dropping them into lobbies with the best players in this game it just won't last. You can do that in ...

More game modes, improving the new player experience, etc, are all things that are equally as important to us. :)

We're actively working on more reasons to keep playing the game once you're past the initial starting phase.

I understand a lot of the bugs and stuff, game dev is hard but this issue is something that would be easy to fix, I'm sure some of the better players would be willing to wait a little bit just to get a lobby of good players vs bots and fresh players. I know I would at least.

I can understand how it might appear that the items you've outlined above as being an easy fix. While there are some adjustments that we can make rapidly (how the queues are balanced out), many QOL improvements require time invested and prioritization.

Your thoughts are appreciated.
