I can confirm the issue with the exclamation mark for a new project is a known issue and is already been investigated.

The project for season pass holders is hidden without the season pass. So those of us without the season pass cannot dismiss the "New Projects (!)" notification as Massive forgot to omit that project for the notification for non-pass-holders.

This is very helpful in terms of determining the cause - I'll let Massive know!
