You can play the hero missions in the lowest difficulty level and you will get the exactly develop points for the campaign that you would get in the hardest difficulty level. This lowest level will make the hero mission much easier and also much quicker to beat.

If you play locally it's better that you disable STEAM cloud. This STEAM tool has several issues not only with TAB but also with a big number of games.

Probably Steam Cloud is the guilty of your files got deleted.

If you have multimonitor this issue can happen but it's not a issue coming from the game, this is a problem brought along by windows and can happen with other games. To avoid it, the best option is use widowed mode.

Yea i'm just playing the game in survival, i just alt tab sometimes, and sometimes it doens't crash, but i've had it crash on me at least 4x now. with an actual amount time played of at least 10 hours. the rest of my in-game time is just sitting there

If the file is not in the proper folder the problem comes from the antivirus or firewall (even with writting permissions) that don't allow the game being installed as have to be done.
