If this issue only happens when you are playing TAB maybe you can check your resolution, your screen refresh or also your mouse software if it has. But I have never heard about something similar.

Depending on the exact error, usually it's brought along by the STEAM cloud. If you play locally and you don't need that STEAM tool, we recommend you to disable it. This tool is really problematic, not only with TAB but also with a big amount of other games.

There are a lot of streamers that play in this way and if they need to go to the wc the paused. There is no advantage in pausing the game if you don't make any kind of order in game being paused so you can do it without problem.
