If I replay a map I've already played before, the PB time will show as if I never played the map before, and the PB ghost will not appear.
However, the PB time still is in the leaderboard. In Club Campaigns, the PB time and achived medals will be shown in the menu. In the map, achived medals and leaderboard positions (where applicable) will also be shown.
The official Campaigns (Training, Summer 2020, TOTD) are not affected by this and will always show the current (or in TOTD's case, frozen) PB time and ghost.

In Local Play, PB times disappear after leaving and reloading the map.
In both Local Play and Club Campaigns, there are two possibilities.
If I don't beat my real PB, PB times disappear after leaving and reloading the map.
If I beat my real PB, PB times disappear after quitting and restarting the game.

I also want to mention that this issue has also been reported by another user, though only specific to Local Play:

Hello guys,

Thank you for reporting this to us!

Can you guys please provide any further clips or screenshots showing this demonstrated in-game, particularly as you've noted the PBs are still viewable in certain areas but not others?

Thank you!

I have recorded a video of the issue. This is what happens:
- Play a map in either a club campaign or in the "Local" mode. Make sure you have not played this map before (00:15 in the video).
- Finish a run. You will receive a medal, and your time is added to the records widget on the left. If you press escape, the menu also displays your time. (00:40 in the video)
- Continue driving, and you will see that you get the correct checkpoint splits compared to your best time. (I didn't record this)
- Exit and restart the game, go to the exact same map. (01:10 in the video)
- The game still displays my medal from before (01:20 in the video)
- Open the map once again
- At the start, and whenever you press escape, you will not see the time you set before exiting the game. Instead, it just shows "-:--.---". It does show the correct medal though (01:30 in the video).
- Continue, and you will see that your time is still in the records widget on the left. (01:40 in the video)
- Once you start driving, you don't get checkpoint splits compared to the time you set before exiting the game. (01:50 in the video) This is precisely why it is such an annoying issue.
- The checkpoint splits I get from 2:00 onwards are not the splits compared to my personal best, but to the run in the video where I stould still for three seconds.
- Finish a run that is worse than your previous one. The worse time will be displayed as "Personal Best", even though it clearly is not. (02:30 in the video)
- In the "Local -> Play a Map" mode, it highlights the worse time even more as "New Best Time"
(again, you can see my real PB at the left side)
- The actual personal best is still correctly displayed in the records widget on the left (02:35 in the video)

This behavior is obviously an unintended bug, (1) because you get two seperate "personal best" times, and (2) because everything works fine up until the point when you exit the game.

This bug takes away some fun from playing. It is very helpful to be able to compare yourself to your personal best. That is only possible if I get checkpoint splits. Activating a ghost from the records widget is nice, but you do not get checkpoint splits, so it is not an alternative for me. Improving yourself is one of the core aspects of Trackmania, and this bug hinders that aspect a lot.

You can tell the developers to ask the TMGL players, I have already linked the VOD of Spam. Massa is a player that did not have this issue for a long time, but just recently got it as well! I'm also pretty sure that I personally have not had this issue when the game was released. I sadly cannot tell you exactly when it started, and I cannot say what causes it.

I have tried the "Verify Files" option in Uplay, but it did not help.
Hey there timwie-,

Thank you very much for the clip and in-depth reproduction steps!

I can certainly see what you mean with the confusing double times and understand how frustrating it can be not being able to directly run with and improve on your original PB time.

I have forwarded all these details and your accompanying clip to the team for them to investigate.

Keep an eye on the Forums for updates or in case any further info is requested.

Much appreciated!

Thank you for the update timwie-

I believe this issue has been resolved in the last few days, as our QA was also unable to reproduce it on their side. Would you be able to get back to us and let us know is this is the case for you as well?

Sorry the fixes did not seem to work for you timwie- and MeisterMoll.

I've reached out to the to see if there's any more information we can gather from you to try and create this issue. It may be we need your save file and system files, but I will update you when I can when I hear back from the team.

Hey everyone,

I've got a few questions back from the QA team about this, if you are able to answer these for us that would help in our investigation -

- The PB times on race have been known to sometimes take a few days to update. Does your PB time/ghost turn up after 24 hours or a set time on that particular track? Or does your game never remember or match you against your all time PB ghost for that track?

- When this happens to you in the game what particular tracks are you playing or does this happen on every single track in the game? Also, what ranking did you get at the end of these tracks that do not save your PB ghost?

-Can you also check your download and internet speeds on your PC here and let us know the score please? https://www.speedtest.net/

Hey! Thank you both for your extensive answers.

I followed up from Milky and forwarded everything to our QA team

Thank you!

Now that it is TOTD, I can play against my ghost from back then. Both in Solo and Local mode. I have tried to play an older TOTD in Local mode, and I was able to play against my ghost there as well. It also works in Local for maps of the Fall campaign.

So PB ghosts are saved in Local mode, but you never see them in Local mode, unless that map is also a TOTD or Nadeo campaign map.
Hey there,

Thank you very much for this update on your findings!

We'll pass this onto the team and make them aware!

Thanks timwie- for the update.

I have added this information to our report, at the moment we are still unable to reproduce this so bearing that in mind, I would like to ask any players who are still affected by this, if you have already tried our basic troubleshooting for this issue - https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Fa...roubleshooting

Could you please share with us or link us to your dxdiag and msinfo files -

DXDIAG - https://ubi.li/msrxL
MSINFO - https://ubi.li/lmiCE

If you can please create a case here, upload your system files above, then give us the case number, we will happily pass this onto our QA team to investigate further -

Thank you all for your help and patience with the PB ghost times issue.

I opened a case, the number is 13091489.

Before I opened it, I tried the following, without any success:
- updated all kinds of drivers
- updated Windows
- reinstalled Ubisoft Connect
- verified game files
- restarted
- launched as admin
Thank you for keeping us up to date!

I have forwarded your files to our team. Hopefully this will help us understand the root cause of the issue, and we can start to bring back some good news!

So far we have not been able to reproduce this so it is taking time, but we're doing everything we can!

Hello MeisterMoll and timwie-, we have no updates to share on this issue yet from our end but as soon as we do we will let you know, I am just posting here so you know that we are not ignoring this issue we just are still investigating it. I have noticed there have been a handful of other players files who were affected added to the investigation, but we have no findings or updates from the QA team to share just yet, apologies that there seems to be no fix for your issue as of yet.

I will add this new information to our investigation timwie- - but first would you be able to tell me which drive your Windows OS installed on? Is it the same drive as that Trackmania is installed or another? Also, apologies if you have mentioned this before is it a SSD or HDD drive where the game and OS is installed? The QA have not asked for these details, but I believe any related information about installation may be useful either way to add.
